Jealousy, once again, rears its ugly head.
planktonrules28 November 2023
While on "The Dick Van Dyke Show" the Petries were supposed to be an exceptionally sweet and happy couple, several times the program undermined this was a few episodes which made the marriage look less than ideal. These are among my least favorite episodes.

In "Bank Book 6565696", Rob discovers a passbook account and apparently Laura has socked away a few hundred dollars...and never told him. Rob imagines all sorts of things and ultimately thinks this money is to buy him a movie projector. But when he doesn't get it, he begins to suspect the worst, leading to a nasty confrontation with Laura.

As I said above, the jealousy and suspicion episodes really didn't fit in well with the happy marriage shows. It's not a bad episode but clearly doesn't do a lot when it comes to continuity of the characters.

Mary's obnoxious whining tarnishes the show,again...

Warning: Spoilers
I usually like this show, most of the time. Unless it is like this episode, with Mary's hysterical whining and crying routine, that is. Laura's obnoxious whining is like hearing fingernails on a chalkboard,it is very annoying and it is always pointless and unnecessary. In real-life,Laura would surely be told to shut-up.

Better yet, they should have cut the whining,fake-crying,and hissy-fits from Laura's routine. I find nothing the least bit funny about this selfish and annoying aspect of Mary's personality,in fact it ruins too many episodes of this otherwise-decent show.

Skip this episode.
