Things come to a head
Leofwine_draca5 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Things come to a welcome head in episode 30 of the show. It's a confrontation of sorts which takes place at the Collin house between Victoria, Roger, Burke and David. Once again the bleeder value is the hot topic of conversation with a cliffhanger ending of sorts. There's a lot of tension and shouting and drama here, but I did notice just how repetitive a lot of the dialogue is, a requirement to get the running time up to the required twenty minutes.

The look on Roger's face is priceless.

Warning: Spoilers
For a man who shows little emotion, Roger Collins certainly wears it on his face with priceless heartbreak. Victoria blurt out the news that it wasn't Burke Devlin who removed the bleeder valve but Rogers own son David. Roger stares off into space with a slice gasp, insisting that only Burke definitely would have a motive to do with that, but knowing inside that it is not the case.

Meanwhile, Burke drives David home, having found the bleeder valve, and David realizes that he has been found out. This tension filled episode is filled with a variety of emotions, twists and great lines, especially when Roger tells Victoria, "I don't know whether to thank you or hate you." This leads to a confrontation between father, son, and father's worst enemy, and turns the show at 6 weeks old into something really powerful.

"We Never Know What Monsters We Create"

Warning: Spoilers
With the power temporarily down, Vicki (Alexandra Moltke) is frightened by a shadowy figure in Collinwood's drawing room doors. The cloaked figure could be considered the series' first on-screen ghost, Roger spooking Vicki, or her imagination. This eventually common occurrence is likely intended to be Roger (Louis Edmonds), returning from town without David. Vicki tells Roger her conclusions about the "bleeder valve" removed from his car's master cylinder. Never a secret from viewers, David (David Henesy) removed the part in an attempt to kill his father, after hearing he might be sent away. Later, Burke (Mitchell Ryan) arrives, with some missing parts...
