Ha, I just love this episode's title, such deft use of the letter H! This to me as a series is a poor shadow in comparison to the true adult version, it's a little too kiddie-oriented at heart for me, and it could be seriously irritating with the goody-goody moral of the day crap, but it is still mostly good and a lot of harmless fun, and this one I think stands out from the rest and I love it a lot more because I think the story is wonderfully put together and has a great little arc to it, and I thought it had a very good, sweet moral that was relatable and actually true to life, 'cause as you know people can and do occasionally get more than a little cynical and joyless with age, like the titular uncle Harry who features here, a real tightly-wound unreasonable piece of work who learns to have a good carefree time again like when he was a kid himself as well as learn to use his imagination a little, all through the deconstructive 'magic' of a terrifying rail ride through a spook house that's definitely playing for keeps! I thought Harry was a remarkably well developed character for this show, he seemed to be a mite deeper than most of what you'd usually get. The voice actor did an amazing job of making you immediately take a strong dislike to this miserable old grump who will only allow his sweet little nephew Jeremy to go on one ride at the carnival that he's visiting for his birthday, and who keeps on spoiling the fun with his negative opinions whenever Jeremy tries to choose something, and you soon want to see this guy get his comeuppance, and at the end after everything he's just gone through with the ride that was a nightmare for him but pure joy for his oblivious nephew, and he begins to see the lighter side of it, I was actually happy for him that he'd been scared into remembering a little of his inner child and how to have fun once more. It's a simple but profound kind of message to me, and I find this a truly excellent episode. It's got some great animation during the ride sequence, there's some really funny dialogue in it, and it's well worth your time even if you're not a fan of this show, and is a heck of a lot better than your average Tales From the Cryptkeeper story.
