Sex & Nudity

  • There is a passionate kiss between Ron and another woman.
  • Harry and Hermione dance together.
  • Harry and Hermione kiss, they seem to be naked although no frontal nudity is shown.
  • Harry and Ginny are about to kiss, although they are interrupted.

Violence & Gore

  • At the start of the movie, Charity Burbage gets levitated lying on her back and head hanging backwards. She gets killed in this position during a meeting with all the Death Eaters. It is implied that her corpse gets eaten by a large snake
  • A Weasley brother is seen with a blood splattered on his chopped ear by a curse. He is OK after that.
  • Some fights with wands and magic but they last a couple of seconds to a full minute
  • Ron's arm gets mutilated during a chase scene. His arm looks rather mangled and we see a lot of blood. He is also convulsing in a really disturbing manner.
  • Bill's face is heavily scarred, which he mentions is due to having been attacked by werewolf Fenrir Greyback.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Several characters drink Polyjuice Potion to turn into other people.
  • Mild
  • Glasses magically fill at a wedding reception and various people are shown holding drinks. It's unknown whether the contents are alcoholic or not.
  • On two occasions, presumably alcoholic drinks are seen appearing in champagne glasses. Men are seen holding glasses of presumably alcoholic beverages. Characters behave drunkenly and consume alcohol at a wedding, drunken men seen in London. Potions are used to sedate and clean wounds.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The film's ending is very depressive and heartbreaking.
  • The scene involving Bathilda Bagshot in Godric's Hollow is one of the most frightening in the series. It plays out almost like a horror movie
  • The scenes involving Nagini are very frightening, (the scenes with Bathilda Bagshot and her eating the dead Muggle teacher), especially for viewers with ophidiophobia (scared of snakes).
  • Some action violence: frightening characters and creatures, pervasive sense of threat, mild jump scares, physical transformations, et cetera.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • One of the main characters has a slur violently cut into her arm with a dagger. While we can't see it happen, we hear horrifying screaming and scrapings.
  • Dobby gets stabbed in the stomach with a knife. The knife gets pulled out and we see lots of blood dripping from the knife and his stomach. This scene is extremely heartbreaking.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Dobby gets stabbed in the chest and ends up getting killed. This is very emotional to viewers.
  • In Malfoy manor, we see Bellatrix carving the word "Mudblood" on Hermione's arm. You can see and hear her (Hermione) shrieking and crying in agony. Then she (Bellatrix) attempts to slit Hermione's throat but is stopped by Dobby unscrewing a chandelier and it falls not hitting Bellatrix or Hermione. This is easily the most disturbing scene in the entire franchise.
  • The scene where Harry and Ron destroy the horcrux may be disturbing to some. A strange otherworldly dark organic mass erupts from the horcrux and what sounds like Voldemort's voice is heard from it.
  • It is pretty intense when Bellatrix carves "mudblood" into Hermione's wrist.
  • This movie leaves on a cliffhanger but the story is resolved in part 2 the finale.
