re: What a difference a week makes?!!

I have to disagree! While I would never say it was 'the best' of episodes, I must say that It was terrific to watch the casts best actors really ply their trade. The intensity of the drama was fascinating. Tigh is such an interesting character and Michael Hogan plays him so well. I hope when the series ends we will see more of him in some interesting roles.

I would like to see some more action, however, as I have been missing the fantastic fleet battles of earlier seasons. I'm expecting the season will be low on action, unfortunately, but leading up to an epic final episode (or two).

Changes at the top
Tweekums4 February 2012
Warning: Spoilers
After the duel surprises of Athena shooting the Six and the base star jumping away with the president, half of Galactica's vipers and several key personnel in the previous episode I was expecting this episode to feature a confrontation between the Colonial forces and the renegade Cylons; instead it dealt with the problems left behind in the fleet; Athena finds herself back in the brig for her actions but more importantly with Laura Roslin missing Vice President Tom Zarek automatically gets the top job; the council want answers but Admiral Adama refuses to have any dealings with Zarek. Lee realises that a compromise president must be found; one for has the respect of the fleet but is also able to deal with the admiral. To help find the right person for the job he employs Baltar's former lawyer Romo Lampkin. Many names are suggested but for one reason or another they are unsuitable... until Lampkin comes up with the obvious solution. There are changes happening on the military side of the fleet too as Adama steps down from command so that he can wait for his friend Laura's return without endangering anybody else... even though it means he has accidentally put a Cylon in charge of Galactica.

This wasn't the most exciting episode of the series but it did have some good moments and by delaying the discovery of the president it raised the tension of the series over all. The picking of a new acting president could have been a bit boring if it hadn't been for the return of the excellent Mark Sheppard as Romo Lampkin. There were some interesting questions raised when it was suggested that Tigh and impregnated the captive Caprica Six; either somebody else has been visiting her or the theory that Cylons can't breed with each other is incorrect. After this I expect things will get more exciting fairly quickly as the series approaches the long mid-season break.

I loved it (Spoilers) Warning: Spoilers
I would have to strongly disagree with these negative comments. I started to lose interest after Escape Velocity, that was by and far the most filler episode. The one's with the Demetrius somewhat picked up more but still annoyed me, not as much now that I've seen them again. Then Guess Whats Coming to Dinner completely flipped my lid and I was back on board the fan train.

But this one I honestly think was the best so far. You learned so much about the characters that I felt was intense. Adama finally admits that he can't live without Roslin, well holy cow, he's just committed himself all the way in a relationship that didn't even involve sex. And the pregnancy of Six by Tigh, it might not make sense right now but come on!! The most bad ass guy on the crew is now going to be responsible for a child, it totally threw me off guard. And with Lee, you start to see how conniving he really is. You can tell from this that he always secretly planned on making it to the top. Now it's clear that he has some sort of ulterior motives for his actions, who knows where that is going to end up.

Obviously this review sounds adolescent, I honestly can't say why I liked this so much.

What a difference a week makes?!!
diurnal11 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I must admit this was the worst episode of the season(ironically the last episode was the best). There was no action and flow of the show was, at least, irritating.

For example; There was the Saul and Adama conflict, Adama and Boomer conflict, Saul and #6, Lee Adama and Romo(the lawyer from the Baltar case) conflict, and who was going to be the next president debacle.

This, in my opinion, was the classic "filler episode". I hate when this occurs but it's the nature of shows with 20 episodes.

All in All, nothing really was accomplished. Furthermore, the president and the jumped cyclon baseship was no where to be found?!! I give this episode 4 out of 10. 4 for just the effort. Well let's hope we don't get anymore of these episodes. Come on MICHAEL MOORE!! BYE
