A glimpse into the nuances of Uganda's misogynistic society ready to talk about its issues, a classic case of art imitates life. Anyone who recently or currently living in Uganda, will feel nostalgic relating to the characters' mannerisms as they navigate life. This movie produced and written by an all female crew is about four ladies battling for respect and free expression in a society that has already doomed them to a small dark corner of long suffering silence, wife battery, rape and marital affairs. Stella works hard to marry a woman beater in order to fit in, Quin calls lawyers for women she is trying to save from domestic violence while her own husband flaunts his affairs in her face, pregnant Jessica is a mistress not by choice and Becky navigates the online dating scene in Uganda through facebook. Diana Kahunde as Jessica lives up to her humorous persona, just like in the Hostel drama series. So again, you will remember her. Who is this movie for? Anyone searching for a glimpse into how a society hails men and works hard to keep them in that position as hero and villain of women. Feminists, women activists will find this a good case study. Anyone who seeks to understand the "men are trash" slogan. Anyone looking for a laugh in between dark moments. The best part of the movie is a few minutes after the beginning and a few minutes before the end, just after the characters have built enough chemistry to have fun. I can say I enjoyed watching it.
