Sex & Nudity

  • A couple of beheaded naked bodies are hung from a tree, and we can briefly see the buttocks.
  • A man wakes out of sleep. You see his bare torso and he appears to be wearing some sort of small loin cloth covering his privates. The camera angle does not show any bulge, but a glimpse of the side of his upper leg/butt area is shown as he gets out of bed. No nudity.
  • Partial rear / frontal nudity -- pubic hair not very visible. Not sure if this is even right but there is some ritual and you can't really see from it how people are clothed and are they even male or female. You can only hear men shouting so I doubt there are women. But nonetheless. There was nothing sexual here.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is tortured then beheaded. (Shown for comedic purposes)
  • A man is beheaded (onscreen at a distance), but he is shown on his knees and the sword being raised beforehand.
  • A pig is slaughtered, and one of the characters is seen gutting it.
  • Soldiers are stabbed. Lots of battle related violence, stabbing, slashing, mostly with swords, spears and axes.
  • People are lit on fire and scream, and flaming bodies are seen falling into the fire.
  • A younger child has a spear thrown into his back. We see the child lying on the ground with the spear sticking out and blood.
  • A little boy has his throat slit (offscreen) but it is strongly implied.
  • A character's leg wound is shown with blood.
  • The detached head of the character who was beheaded is shown on the ground during the battle (only brief).
  • A character is beaten nearly to death in an arena, and a sword is shown almost jabbing into his chest before his life is spared.
  • A character slaughters a rodent (offscreen) and later is shown eating it.
  • Dead corpses are seen hanging from trees.
  • A battle ground is seen littered with dead bodies.
  • In several scenes, human skulls and bones are shown.
  • Two characters knock each other off their horses, and roll around fighting, punching - one attempts to choke the other.
  • A man's leg is cut off, (briefly seen onscreen)
  • The unrated version has some additional graphic blood spray, particularly in the opening battle sequence.

Profanity

  • 1 use of "ass". 1 brief use of sh*thole in the beginning. Profanity is scarce, and when used, is of a lighter nature, such as "d*mn", "hell", etc.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A character asks another character for wine.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The battle scenes are intense, but not much blood is shown.
  • The beheading can be disturbing.
  • The appearance of the Seal People could be frightening to a younger audience.
  • A little boy has his throat cut, although not shown on-screen, is disturbing.
  • For more, see "Violence/Gore". Depending on the individual, what's depicted could be frightening/intense.
