Dare Devil (#1.5)

Warning: Spoilers
The story of Blair's sleepover was good. Not realistic at all, but very entertaining which is the most important thing for tv. Jenny might become a very big character with her skills. Serena and Dan are very good together. Him trying to impress her was kind of funny and awkward, having a normal date after showed the chemistry between them, so they have shown the story really well so we can understand. I also liked Lily and Rufus evening. They seem to be pretty good together as well, am curious about their pat relationship.

Jenny shined in this episode

Warning: Spoilers
The sleepover scenes were not realistic but very entertaining. I loved Jenny in this episode. She was amazing and I feel that her character is going to become so much better. The date with Dan and Serena was cute but it wasn't very entertaining. I like that this episode humanized Lily a little bit and made us understand her more. I really want to know more about her relationship with Rufus. I also sensed some chemistry between Lily and Rufus. Maybe we'll see them together soon.

Overall this episode wasn't the best but it was pretty good and entertaining. The sleepover was the best part of this episode.

Little J Makes This Episode
KatherinePetersdorf8 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I love Blair, despite her evil ways - in fact usually because of them. Still, Little J really took the cake on this episode. Her escalation really rivals Blair on this level, and her cunning is amazing.

At this point I could see Erik becoming her best friend or lover (though later I changed my mind on option B :P can't say why, too much of a spoiler).

The content of the side stories in this episode was plain and slow, pretty boring in general on the date front.

I found that this episode humanized Lily a little bit, with her relationship with Rufus, but honestly I still found her to be a bad mother. She knows why Erik tried to kill himself, and she claims she doesn't - as if.

Social Amnesia

Dan takes Serena out to a restaurant for a date and the waiter treats him as though he's never seen him before. I've certainly been through that, not in a restaurant, but in various city churches where people whom I've worked with have either ignored me or treated me like a stranger. In Dan, you get to experience what it is like as a socially aspiring talent who hits a social glass ceiling in middle class society. However, through Serena, he very quickly loses his outsider status and becomes an insider. He doesn't seem to work for it like Jenny who gives the impression that she is willing to sell her soul just to make it in middle class society. Dan's too proud for that, which loses him a few sympathy points. Maybe he needs to be halfway between himself and Jenny to be more endearing.
