Love triangle plus Kung-Fu!
deluca.lorenzo@libero.it11 January 2021
Kung-Fu movies aren't famous for their plots, so this one makes no exception: the two heroes Raymond Lui and Steve Lee are in love with Lisa Lui, but they put aside the matter in order to face the gangsters who hired a deadly mercenary to conquer the village. I saw this more than 40 years ago, but I remember at one point it had an HIGH NOON atmosphere: in that they wait in anguish for the return of the outlaws they defeated before. Raymond Lui (TIGER JUMP) was a passable Taiwanese actor and Steve Lee (now a famous cook in Hong Kong) was a real heavy (have you seen his duel against Jackie Chan in DRAGONS FOREVER?). The always sexy Hu Chin plays a tea-house owner. Wei Ping Ao from FIST OF FURY and WAY OF THE DRAGON also appear in this, alongwith well-known stuntmen as Chen Chuan (who also served as Kung-Fu coreographer), Jackie Chan's Opera comrade Mars, child actor Mang Hoi (ENTER THE DRAGON; SUPERMEN OF KARATE) and the late Fung Hak On (THE YOUNG MASTER, KUNG-FU HUSTLE). Directed by Sun Chong, later a big director in such classics like THE AVENGING EAGLE for Shaw Brothers. HONOR AND LOVE (aka FIGHTING IS LIVING) was released in Hong Kong 12/29/73 and in 1975 in Italy as I SEGUACI DI BRUCE LEE (The Bruce Lee's followers).
