Enjoyable, unpretentious romantic porn
lor_28 October 2015
In contrast to Nicholas Steele's many bombastic and higher profile projects, "Only in America" represents a basic approach to porn that I found refreshing after recently watching several of his big-budget duds (e.g., "Rawhide" and the crummy superhero parodies). He released it in 2005 and I found a 2012 reissue from Bluebird Films in England.

Storyline involves the Mexican council general (Steven St. Croix) bringing his family to L.A. to stay at the mansion of a senator (Randy Spears, seemingly miscast but not really, given the low reputation of U.S. senators these days). His truly beautiful daughter (Haley Paige wisely not doing an accent or anything Streepy) falls in love with the senator's son Cheyne Collins, and that's about it.

On paper it's a "so what" exercise, but in actuality a pleasant diversion -simplicity being the proper antidote to auteur Steele's propensity for biting off more than he can chew in a movie project. Mixed-combo action is provided by Marie Luv as St. Croix's wife Lola, too young for the role, but who cares about that? European superstar Rita Faltoyano pops up as a rival for Cheyne's affection, along with Lauren Phoenix and Monique Madison in very satisfying femme roster, not stinting on the arousing lesbian action.
