9 couples (married, engaged, or just dating), 7 episodes, 17 stunts, many very generous prizes (including exotic trips, cars, and cash), and 1 winning couple gets 1 million dollars. The stunts are exciting, varied, and shrewdly designed to test the trust/communication levels of the couples. You get to know the strongest couples pretty well, because they last for several episodes, and they all get Survivor-type confessionals straight to the camera (a Fear Factor First). The funniest, most genuine couple are Adam and Meg, who quickly emerge as the favorites to win the million - despite their frequent spats, they work very effectively together as a team. Another one of my favorites is the lovable underdog couple of Meghan and James, the youngest of the nine. The final episode contains a shattering surprise, and apart from a blatant injustice on episode 4 (see my comment there), this 7-episode stretch is one of the high points of the show. *** out of 4.
