I'm Rachel Davenport-on YOUR side.

"Rundown" is a compelling story that shows the competitive nature of humans and their ability to handle intense pressure, but for all the wrong reasons.

Rachel Davenport is an ambitious news reporter who wants to show her worth to her bosses and colleagues at the news station. However, her plans come to a head when, distracted by a phone call with her boss, she runs over a jogger. She struggles to hide her guilt and maintain her composure on the air, especially when confronted with the grieving PREGNANT woman's husband.

The ending of the film shocked me, but I expected nothing less from a desperate character like Rachel, who would do anything to get ahead in her career. The final tight shot on Rachel was creepy, to say the least: the final stage of a woman selling a piece of her soul for credibility. She shakes as gets her makeup done during a commercial break; this image reminded me of the scene of Tonya in "I Tonya" wiping her tears away and practicing her smile before her adoring crowd.

Overall, the film was well made, almost like a psychological drama. A gripping cautionary tale. Well deserved of an Academy Award. 7/10.
