Shhh. Do you hear that? That’s the sound of the new teaser for A Quiet Place: Day One. While series creator John Krasinski has opted to do a much more family-friendly fare with the Ryan Reynolds movie If, A Quiet Place has been handed off to some pretty capable hands as Michael Sarnoski steps up to sit in the director’s seat. The new trailer will be dropping sometime tomorrow. However, the official Instagram account for the film and the film’s studio, Paramount, couldn’t wait to tease audiences with this atmospheric, Asmr-esque video which should give you the environment of the invasion as you listen to it with headphones on.

The Nicolas Cage resurgence as of late has interestingly mostly found him in more abstract kinds of films as opposed to his more commercially appealing blockbusters of yesteryear. While many have pined for a National Treasure 3, Cage has been partaking in indie films like Pig, Mandy and Dream Scenario. However, he would also mix in a couple mass audience projects like The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and Renfield. Deadline has now reported that Cage is set to star in The Carpenter’s Son, a horror tale that’s based on the rarely-told childhood of Jesus Christ.
The official synopsis for The Carpenter’s Son reads,
“The Carpenter’s Son tells the dark story of a family hiding out in Roman Egypt. The son, known only as ‘the Boy’, is driven to doubt by another mysterious child and rebels against his guardian, the Carpenter, revealing inherent powers and a fate beyond his comprehension.

One of the most popular fictional characters of all time, Robin Hood, has been at the center of numerous adaptations. From the early days when Errol Flynn played the legendary outlaw to modern adaptations starring big names such as Sean Connery or Kevin Costner (there is even an animated adaptation by Disney), Robin Hood has been an inspiration for filmmakers and it seems that a new movie that will tackle the story is going to be released relatively soon. The Death of Robin Hood will start production next year and will tell the story of an older, guilt-ridden Robin Hood, and as we know now, Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer have signed on to star in the movie.
Not much is known about the project, as there is still a long way to go until filming starts, but the film is in the pre-production phase now, and we do have...

The year 2024 is turning out to be quite the year for Hugh Jackman. The Australian star is making a return to the big screen as everyone’s favorite clawed mutant, Wolverine. The X-Men member has been a mainstay not only in the comics, but also in the movie series, beginning with 2000’s X-Men. It was the latter which catapulted Hugh Jackman to a pedestal from which there was no turning back. The year 2024 marks a return for Jackman to his loved role. But it comes alongside confirmation that he will be making his debut as Robin Hood, as well.

Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer are heading to Sherwood Forest for one last hurrah.
The “Wolverine” star and the “Killing Eve” actress are attached to star in “The Death of Robin Hood,” a cheery-sounding new film from Michael Sarnoski, the director of the critically-acclaimed “Pig” and this summer’s “A Quiet Place: Day One.”
According to the official logline, the film will find Robin Hood “grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder.” Instead of the merry outlaw seen in certain previous versions of the story like the one portrayed by Errol Flynn, this Robin Hood is “a battleworn loner [who] finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman, who offers him a chance at salvation.” It sounds reminiscent of Richard Lester’s elegiac take on the popular story, “Robin and Marian,” a 1976 film starring Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn as a middled-aged Robin Hood and Maid Marian.

The popular children’s television series Bluey has recently finished its third season, bringing the series to a total of 158 episodes. Beginning in 2018, the Australian-based cartoon was seen as the next Peppa Pig in terms of its popularity with younger children. Surprisingly, the show also appealed to many young adult viewers, leading to its worldwide popularity.
But what has everyone talking is the second to last episode of the third season, “The Sign,” which many saw as a massive event for the series. The episode dealt with the marriage between Bluey’s Uncle Radley and her babysitter, Frisky, making her a part of the family. However, not all seems well as the titular sign is placed outside of her home, leading to the possibility of her family selling their house and her moving to a new town.

As far as investigators go, Jim Rockford (James Garner) is a bit of a departure from the mostly-polished (Columbo excepted) detectives of television's first decade. A slouchily dressed detective who lived in a trailer and served time in San Quentin, Rockford was cool — if not always collected. "The Rockford Files" ran for six seasons on NBC beginning in 1974 and was later resurrected for a series of '90s TV movies. In that time, audiences were introduced not only to Rockford, but to a cast of supporting characters including his truck driver dad Rocky (Noah Beery Jr.), LAPD pal Becker (Joe Santos), and the con artist Angel (Stuart Margolin).
Garner passed away in 2014, and only a few "Rockford Files" castmates are still with us today. Those who are still around include notable recurring guest stars like famously mustachioed "Blue Bloods" star Tom Selleck, Egot-winning multi-hyphenate Rita Moreno, and "Happy Gilmore" director...

With Dune: Part Two and Civil War in theaters, it’s already been a great year for sci-fi, and that doesn’t even count goofball flicks like Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, or any other movies with the word “empire” in the title. Sure, it’s not all perfect. Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17, starring Robert Pattinson, has been pulled from the release schedule and there’s no way that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will release this year. Two things that make any movie better when added to the mix are monsters and Nic Cage. With Arcadian we get both. The sixty-year-old actor has gone through a significant career shift in his later years. He certainly hasn’t slowed down, starring in five films released last year and popping-in for a quick (and confusing) cameo for DC’s The Flash. Beginning around 2013’s Joe and continuing with films like Mandy, Pig and Dream Scenario he’s gravitated towards smaller films with a focus on character exploration amidst extraordinary circumstances. 2024 continues that trend with a successful spin on the post-apocalyptic genre.

Cats, call your agents. Top creatives are increasingly giving the notoriously tough-to-train pets dramatic roles in live-action projects.
In Steven Zaillian’s acclaimed Netflix limited series Ripley, a Maine Coon dubbed Lucio has been called “a main character.” In Paramount’s upcoming A Quiet Place: Day One, Lupin Nyong’o plays woman struggling to escape an alien invasion with her tuxedo cat Frodo. Sound might be instant death in the world of "A Quiet Place," but that's not stopping Paramount Pictures from making some noise with the newest installment of this unexpectedly successful franchise. First kicked off by director and star John Krasinski in 2018, the high-concept genre movie instantly stood out as an original, well-crafted, and thoroughly engrossing experience at the theater. And since anything done well these days is apparently always worth doing twice, if not more, that effort led to a sequel just two years later. Now, we're on the cusp of a prequel movie that aims to turn back the clock all the way to ground zero of the alien invasion with "A Quiet Place: Day One."
So how long has this film been in the works? Well, let's put it this way: this week's CinemaCon held in Las Vegas has been expected to debut new footage of the origin story,...

One of the most memorable horror blockbusters in recent memory was director John Krasinski's "A Quiet Place." It remains impressive that the guy who played Jim on "The Office" crafted such a refreshing film (with lots of help from screenwriters Scott Beck and Bryan Woods) that has spawned an entire franchise. What tends to happen in the realm of horror is that a string of imitators will follow any major success. Well, the time has finally come as "Arcadian" has unquestionably taken more than a little inspiration from Krasinski's 2018 thriller. That said, this is far more than just a cheap imitation. Moreover, it serves as a showcase for one of our most compelling living actors: Nicolas Cage.
"Arcadian" recently screened at SXSW in Austin, Texas, and I was lucky enough to catch the film. Directed by Benjamin Brewer ("The Trust") and written by Michael Nilon ("Braven"), it's certainly not...

In the past six months, Nicolas Cage has expressed confusion over his cameo as Superman in The Flash, discussed his desire to do TV and held forth on potentially retiring from movies. This week, in an interview with Deadline at SXSW, Cage expressed indifference at the thought of returning to the comic book genre.
“Would I return to the comic book genre?” Cage asked himself, before continuing with a lukewarm, “I guess never say never.”
That’s hardly a ringing endorsement. Cage maintains there’s much more to him that a comic book geek.
“Much has been made about that. My comic book collection just goes viral quickly, exponentially, and I feel like in some ways it’s eclipsed what I’m really reading,” Cage told Deadline, “like [Nikolai Golgol’s] “The Overcoat” or Herman Hesse. It’s like I’m still stuck at 12 years old with the NyQuil and the lemon cookies and The Incredible Hulk No.

Lionsgate Television just eliminated more than half of its development deals, IndieWire has confirmed. The reduction comes after Lionsgate’s $375 million acquisition of eOne from Hasbro. The eOne purchase, which on the television side brought over “Yellowjackets” and other series, mixed with general industry contraction in the post-Peak TV era, rationalized the sweeping cuts.
Lionsgate executives conducted a two-months-long review of the Lionsgate Television and eOne talent rosters, which together included nearly 60 overall and first-look deals. The number is now below 30; no names have been reported on either the “stay” or “go” side of the ledger.
Deadline first reported the news. A Lionsgate rep declined comment on this story.
It is pretty common for a company to slim down ahead of acquisition — just ask Paramount — but this round was pretty drastic. It is important to remember that during last year’s writers strikes, pretty much all overall deals were put on pause.

Paramount Pictures didn’t have a bad 2023 but had put a lot of hopes on the latest in the Mission: Impossible franchise to push them towards a great year. After Tom Cruise soared with Top Gun: Maverick, they had hoped fans would flock to theaters once again to see him in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part One. Off that’s a long title. It underperformed, so the next film will get a new name. What can fans look forward to on Paramount’s 2024 release schedule?

The sci-fi horror A Quiet Place franchise is heading to New York with its latest entry, A Quiet Place: Day One, which is set to reach theatres on June 28th. A trailer for the film arrived online just a couple days ago, and now we know that this is also one of the movies that’s going to be promoted during the Super Bowl this Sunday. We know that because the “Big Game” TV spot has already made its way online, and you can check it out in the embed above!
While John Krasinski directed the previous two films, he is producing A Quiet Place: Day One and has passed the helming duties over to Michael Sarnoski, director of the Nicolas Cage drama Pig (watch it Here). Jeff Nichols (Midnight Special) was attached to write and direct A Quiet Place: Day One for a while, but when he dropped out he was replaced by Sarnoski.

Memories can be as fickle as they can be honest. They can shift and alter themselves as we begin to fixate on certain emotional responses garnered from specific impactful encounters. This malleable nature is at the heart of Oscar nominated animated short Letter to a Pig from Dn alum director Tal Kantor. The story of a young schoolgirl who finds herself transported into an internal world when a Holocaust survivor visiting her school tells the story of his trauma. Kantor visualises this psychological journey with a distinct brushstroked style and monochrome palette that shifts and folds, evoking the same fading and malleable form that memories can take. During the run up to this year’s Academy Awards Dn joined Kantor once again for a conversation about the making of Letter to a Pig, the thought processes that went into its haunting visual aesthetic, and the reasons she believes it’s...

The trailer for A Quiet Place: Day One, due out June 28, features Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Djimon Hounsou, and an adorable white-and-black cat who are all fighting to survive a global catastrophe. Like the previous Quiet Place films, Day One presents a postapocalyptic world where making the slightest sound summons bloodthirsty alien creatures hellbent on destruction. The twist this time is that it focuses solely on “the day the world went silent,” as the movie’s official synopsis puts it, beginning with shots of a noisy New York City.

When you look back on them, A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place: Part II were all about restraint – intended to pitch viewers into a world of near-total silence, and subsequently dread every single tiny noise for fear of alien annihilation. And they proved highly effective horror-thrillers, anchored in character and brilliantly directed by John Krasinksi. But the first trailer for A Quiet Place: Day One offers a different angle on those ideas – plunging us head-first into a world of total noise and chaos, as the audibly-motivated extra-terrestrial creatures decimate New York City. As you might guess, it looks incredibly intense. Stick your seatbelt on, and watch the trailer here:
Blimey. We previously got a glimpse of ‘Day One’ of the alien attack in Part II, and that was pure carnage even just in a slice of smalltown America. The big city – the biggest city, in fact, the Big Apple...

"Discover why our world went quiet." Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first official trailer for the sci-fi prequel A Quiet Place: Day One, arriving in theaters this June in the middle of the summer. After the first two A Quiet Place movies (from 2018 & 2020), they've decided to go big and make the prequel - setting it in New York City when the alien creatures first arrive and wreak havoc. (There's also a A Quiet Place III sequel in the works). There are no plot details revealed, but this trailer gives us a first look at what's going down. Lupita Nyong'o stars as a woman named Sam in NYC caught up in the mayhem. "As everything quickly goes to hell, she’s thrown together with a man named Eric. With some reluctance, the pair agree to navigate and survive the city together." And yes, she has a cat she brings along, and its name is Frodo.

Lupita Nyong’o stars in the first trailer for the long-awaited prequel to John Krasinki’s 2018 horror film. Watch the brand new A Quiet Place: Day One trailer here.
In 2018, it was almost criminal to eat popcorn at the cinema, at least if you were watching John Krasinski’s directorial debut, A Quiet Place. The film paid a lot of attention to sound design and silences so munching away at your popped corn during tense moments, of which there were aplenty, was frowned upon.
Our popcorn eating was interrupted again in 2020 when a sequel, again directed by Krasinki, was released. And now, four years later, we must face the eternal question again: to munch or not to munch during A Quiet Place film? We’ll leave you to make that decision for yourselves.
Take a look at the new A Quiet Place: Day One trailer.

For the next installment in the blockbuster “A Quiet Place” franchise, things are going back to the start.
Set to arrive in theaters this year, “A Quiet Place: Day One” will detail the origins of the alien invasion that wiped out the Earth’s noisiest citizens by focusing the action on what happened to residents of New York City on the day the sound-sensitive monsters from space first attacked.
The prequel film, which will debut on June 28, stars Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o and “Stranger Things” breakout Joseph Quinn as a pair of unlikely allies in the early stages of the alien onslaught. “Pig” filmmaker Michael Sarnoski wrote and directed “A Quiet Place: Day One” with a story assist from original franchise director John Krasinski.
“When you have a family, there is an innate expectation that they will want to stick together. We don’t have that in this film,” Nyong’o told Entertainment Weekly.

"A Quiet Place" had a fairly simple premise. The Abbott family (which includes John Krasinski and Emily Blunt) struggles to survive in a ravaged post-apocalyptic world swarming with blind extraterrestrials with a heightened sense of hearing, making near-silence crucial to the fates of everyone involved. A singular, accidental sound could spell death for anyone, leading to heartbreaking circumstances amid a horrifying situation.
The success of the first film snowballed into a sequel, appropriately titled "A Quiet Place Part II," which continues the family's journey while also granting us flashbacks to how the aliens descended on Earth and wreaked absolute havoc. But how did it all start, and what was it like to experience day one of this horror for anyone other than the Abbotts? The answer lies in the first official trailer for "A Quiet Place: Day One," which dramatizes the events by offering distinct perspectives within a familiar story.
