Ingenious concept splendidly executed

Lisa Bailey continues her winning streak in fashioning satisfying Couples Romances for Marc Dorcel, with this excellent MILF vehicle for actress Mariska.

There's no dialog but plenty of both French and English communication in telling this story of a wife who jumps to conclusions in assuming that the mysterious text messages sent to her on a phone she receives in the mail are coming from hubby, presumably to spice up their sex life. The texts appear on screen in French, while British writer-director Liselle has other writings (such as a Birthday Card for Mariska's 40th) written in English.

Mariska's pantomime acting is terrific, and in case we don't grasp what she's thinking there's lots of voice-over narration, presented in whatever language won opts for on the DVD menu. Conveniently, the text messages are all subtitled in English.

Though a romance, the feature unfolds as a mystery, as Mariska follows the directions in the text messages, always wondering if they really are from her husband or some mystery man. She's sent on various assignations, to have sex or participate as a voyeuse.

The lovely heroine dominates the film, but there is adequate support from her blonde next door neighbor Amber Jayne, best bud Liza Del Sierra and coincidentally another blonde Amber, one Amber Deen, no relation to James. Numerous studs inlcuding Ryan Ryder as her husband, get to have sex with the ladies, and Liselle's suprise conclusion to the mystery is both open-ended and extremely satisfying.

For once, I wouldn't mind a sequel.
