Add up all the Deadpool series (creatively), and April’s Deadpool #45 marks Wade Wilson’s landmark 250th issue! How is he celebrating? He’s dying! The end of the line comes for all, even one such as Deadpool, but he’s not gone yet! Say your condolences with this new look at the colossal-sized series finale.
First, Gerry Duggan, Brian Posehn and Mike Hawthorne serve up a 30-page main story, as the villainous Ultimatum finally makes their move. They’re coming for Deadpool – every last one of them! It’s going to be a bloodbath, but Wade’s going to go down swinging.
Then – Gerry, Brian and Scott Koblish bring you a long lost, full length Deadpool tale. Remember when Wade got a hold of the Infinity Gauntlet? No? Don’t worry – that’s what the story is for. And yes, you should be worried Wade Wilson is in possession of nigh-infinite cosmic power.

Avengers #29-34
Written by Jonathan Hickman
Pencils by Leinil Francis Yu
Inks by Gerry Alanguilan
Colors by Sunny Gho & Matt Milla
Published by Marvel
Jonathan Hickman started writing Marvel Comics’ flagship team back in 2012. Marvel was implementing their “Marvel Now!” imprint across the board, repackaging The Avengers as a shiny new number one. (Which – if you look at the numbers – it’s hard not to call this a strategy to temporarily boost units shipped.) He stated in an interview leading up to the book’s release that Marvel outright handed him the keys to the sandbox, giving him all kinds of room to stretch his legs. After his long-form runs on S.H.I.E.L.D. and Fantastic Four/Ff it seemed like a natural progression.
He went on to pen two side-by-side Avengers titles: Avengers and New Avengers. Avengers expanded the very idea of the squad, who it is and what it does.

“Stay on the road. Keep clear of the Moors.” A patron at The Slaughtered Lamb pub in Yorkshire gave this advice to two backpacking Americans in John Landis’ An American Werewolf in London, and the same could be said this fall to attendees of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood if they want to survive the new maze based on the 1981 horror comedy classic.
Universal Studios Hollywood will host the maze based on An American Werewolf in London beginning September 19th. The maze will explore the spooky environments of the film, such as The Slaughtered Lamb and the Yorkshire Moors, and it will feature makeup effects based on Rick Baker’s incredible work on the movie. Last year there was An American Werewolf in London attraction at the Universal Orlando Resort, so it looks like the fanged fever has spread from coast to coast. We have the official press...

In news that will likely surprise few but nevertheless excite many, the announcement was made today that this year's Halloween Horror Nights event at Universal Studios will once again feature a "Walking Dead"-themed walkthrough, as it has for the past few years.
As executive producer/make-up man Greg Nicotero explained in the announcement video, which you'll see below, the maze will be based around the show's recently completed fourth season, allowing you to relive and actively take part in its most memorable moments and scenarios.
Universal Studios’ “Halloween Horror Nights” events have a more than 20-year history of creating incredibly entertaining, horrifying Halloween experiences that are consistently rated the nation’s best. The events on each coast feature highly-themed, disturbingly real, haunted mazes based on everything from films to nightmares – and streets filled with hundreds of specially trained “scareactors.”

This Sunday on Showtime’s Homeland, Nicholas Brody (played by Damian Lewis) finally reared his head again, far from Canada and perhaps as far from being “home” as he ever will be.
In Season 3′s third episode — penned by Henry Bromell, who last month won a posthumous Emmy for writing last season’s “Q&A” — the action picked up in Venezuela, where Brody, gushing blood from a gunshot, was delivered to El Nino, a shady sort with a gang of gunmen.

The World’s End was a great film, and amongst its many covered genres, it made a pretty big mark in the ranks of epic bar brawl movies. To celebrate, why don’t we explore some of the other great drunken tussles of the sci-fi and fantasy genres? Excellent. Glad you’re on board. Because no matter what sorcery or technology you have at your fingertips, there’s always time to get soused and hit someone. 10. Kirk Takes On Starfleet Cadets in Star Trek This was probably the first moment in the new film where things got interesting. A young, dickish Kirk became fully realized at the sight of him getting his ass handed to him in a futuristic space cadet dive. Why, in a world with transporters and warp speed, would a shitty little bar exist is irrelevant because it’s an awesome thing to have. That said, those flashy moving menus and walls must be...

So it is for Lazaro Arbos, who learned Thursday, after several tough weeks, that his American Idol dream is over.

Top 10 lists are tricky things. It can be absurdly hard to narrow down anything to a select group of ten. It’s like being asked to choose your favorite child and you just want to wail, “But I love all of them!” This is particularly true in television. Each year I commit to nearly 100 television shows that air throughout the twelve-month period. Thus, to pare down to the few that were truly outstanding, it can be exceptionally difficult. But there are always a deserving few who manage to do the impossible: sustaining a high caliber of performance and be equally captivating entertainment. As a caveat, there will always be better shows, but sometimes those shows just didn’t manage to be as consistently entertaining. Addictiveness plays a large part of what makes television shows successful. It is a quality that is rare and elusive and can be dependent upon the personal tastes of the viewer.

The Intergenerational Foundation film competition is an amazing opportunity to tell your story. Make every second count
Earlier this year the company which I run, Dartmouth Films, released a feature-length documentary Cocaine Unwrapped. The film had its premiere last year at the Open City film festival, where it played to packed houses and since then has been shown at other festivals around the world and is just about to be shown at various thinktanks and prestigious institutions in the Us. The film tells the story of cocaine from the point of view of the farmers, drugs mules and dealers in the trade and the people and politicians of Latin America. The film has been well received – even by the governments of Mexico and Colombia – because it says unambiguously that this is a western problem.

We want to make a film about inequality with the impact of An Inconvenient Truth. You can help make it happen
I've long been passionate about the role that film can play in creating social change, and in the last few years it is starting to look as though this potential is being realised.
In 2006, Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth was credited with raising global public awareness of climate change. Gore had been making presentations on the issue around the world for some time, but it was the film which took the message to millions. Why was it so effective? Film has the power to engage people on a number of levels: it can bring data to life, showing stories, themes and arguments in ways that words on a page cannot. And Gore's film also showed what could be done about the problem.
Films can also show the human side of statistics,...

Who did Jane pick? Her best friend, Billy? Or her fashion mentor, Jeremy? Any chance that Nick was forgiven and he's the lucky man?
It took the full hour of "The Replacement" for us to find out how the fashion show cliffhanger was resolved. And, at least to my relief, Jane is still single. As I mentioned after "The End of the Line," Jane and Billy are too young to give up their incredible friendship and Jeremy is too old (and the mole, don't forget!) for Jane.
While not much changed in Jane's love life, she has pulled Ben into her ruse. Now that he knows that Jane is working at Donovan Decker, you'd think her life would be easier, but instead she has put Ben in the precarious position of lying to Rita.
Ben has given up so much already for Jane, is it too much for her...

What made Ridley Scott revisit the world of his his iconic movie Alien more than 30 years later? The reasons are complicated, writes Damon Wise, and the results aren't what you'd expect
They say never go back, and in the case of Alien, why would you? The 1979 original, unusually for a cult movie, was a massive hit in its day, and its appeal has not only endured but grown stronger with time – rare for a science fiction film, since nothing dates so quickly as a vision of the future. Unlike with his 1982 masterpiece Blade Runner, Alien's perfectionist director Ridley Scott has pretty much left the movie alone, releasing only one mildly tinkered-with Director's Cut. Which, for him, shows quite an element of restraint.
Of course, the world of Alien was returned to, first with James Cameron's 1986 Aliens, not only a great sequel but one of the greatest action movies ever.

Well, here we are. The end of the line. Eight seasons of House has come to an end, and if the end wasn’t quite as good as I’d hoped it would be, it was perhaps the best ending that we could have expected. Let’s get to it!
We open with House (Hugh Laurie) on the ground in a burning building with a dead guy next to him and another dead guy, Kutner (Kal Penn), talking to him. It seems that our boy House has done some heroin and is now hallucinating. I wasn’t aware that heroin did that, but ok.
From there we go to a whole series of strange events, mostly told through hallucinations and flashbacks. First off, House was treating a patient who was a heroin addict (the dead guy), and he used that, and his other cases,...

A New film looking at the global war on drugs, and specifically the story of cocaine, will host its public UK premiere tonight - Wednesday, May 16 - at the Prince Charles Cinema, Leicester Square, London.

"The End of the Line" originally appeared to be the season finale of Jane By Design. Fortunately, last week, ABC Family ordered an additional eight episodes to air this summer. Phew!
With that cliffhanger on the runway, I'm glad we don't have to wait to find out whether we would get closure or not as Jane's love quadrangle came to a head in this mid-season finale.
Before Jane started at Donovan Decker, she was an awkward high school student with a crush on the school jock. Through her job, she gained the confidence to date him and then the diplomacy to break up with him.
Sure, Jane was disappointed that things didn't work out with Nick, but she held her head high and politely dismissed him. We never would have seen that from pre-Donovan Decker Jane.
Her personal growth has equaled if not exceeded her professional growth; it's quite impressive for a teenager.

Jane By Design Picked Up for 8 Additional Episodes by ABC Family
The spring finale of ABC Family's Jane By Design, titled "The End of the Line", isn't quite the end of the line for the show, according to Deadline. The freshman drama has been picked up for eight additional episodes, which will premiere sometime this summer. There's no word on an exact date or what the show will be airing alongside, however.
In the finale, the pressure has been ratcheted up on Jane now that Ben has gotten a hint that there's more to this "internship" than he originally thought. Plus, it's Fashion Week and she has more on her plate than ever, considering Grey's growing confidence in her young prodigy. Will this be the moment that her two lives finally become aware of one another? Or can Jane somehow, some way keep her little secret from those closest to her?...

Following an intriguing episode that left Jane By Design viewers wondering how the series will wrap things up on next Tuesday's spring finale, we have good news for fans of this ABC Family series:
There's a lot more to come!
Jane By Design Spring Finale Promo: "The End of the Line"
The network has ordered eight more episodes of the Andie MacDowell and Erica Dasher-anchored drama. They will air this some time this summer.
Jane by Design finished February as the number-one one scripted cable program in its time slot for females between the ages of 12 and 34. This is pretty much the ABC Family target demographic.

Bluefin--the most prized of all tunas--are quickly going extinct. The tsunami may have set back plans to keep toro refrigerated for future sushi lovers, but fish farmers are close to a breakthrough.
In the late 1960s, a Japan Airlines cargo executive named Akira Okazaki needed a practical solution to Japan’s trade imbalance with the United States. Planes bearing cameras and electronics to New York were returning empty. Searching for something suitably expensive, Okazaki settled on bluefin tuna, which was fast becoming a delicacy at the time. Today, the extinction of that fish is a very real possibility. Bluefin appeared doomed until an earthquake and tsunami intervened--and will still be doomed unless we can learn to successfully farm the wildest fish of all.
Intially, Okazaki's success seemed modest enough. On August 14, 1972--the “Day of the Flying Fish"--the first tuna airlifted from Nova Scotia were sold at Tokyo’s Tsukiji...

Bobby Fischer was not only one of the greatest chess players of all time, he was possibly also one of the most enigmatic figures of the 20th century.
After his 1972 World Championship victory in Iceland against the Ussr's Boris Spassky (pictured right), Fischer - who was born in Chicago and raised in New York - vanished off the radar but resurfaced for a 1992 rematch held in Yugoslavia.
However, Yugoslavia was under a Un embargo at the time, so Fischer's American passport was revoked. When he travelled to Japan on the invalid documentation, he was detained there for nine months (see picture below), before being granted citizenship by Iceland where he lived until his death in 2008, aged 64.
Now his story is being brought to life by the award-winning, Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Liz Garbus.

Sell out crowds, nifty accents and Ipiddles
I’m waiting to board my flight home to the U.K. It’s been an amazing week at SXSW and I am delighted the way my film Sound It Out has been received. I imagined that I would send regular blog updates to Filmmaker but it’s ust not the kind of festival where there is a spare five minutes in the day. Each day we vowed to get bed early and have some decent sleep and each night we’ve ended up at the 24 hour Cafe Magnolia for late night snacking and putting the world to rights.
For our premiere (and other screenings) the Alamo Ritz was sold out, we had the rumored queue around the block and the audience was great. The Alamo Ritz is not like any other cinema I’ve been to. One can order drinks and food...

Ecologist: Report highlights the lasting impact of The End of the Line in raising awareness of unsustainable fishing practices - and illustrates how radical new film funding models can work
More than one million people have now watched The End of the Line, a groundbreaking expose of the consequences of overfishing, according to an evaluation of the film's impact.
The film was the first major documentary to look at the impact of overfishing on the world's oceans with a quarter of the world's fish stocks being exploited to extinction and a further half at, or close to, their maximum capacity. It highlighted how many of well-known species, including bluefin tuna and cod, are likely to be extinct by 2048.
Although initially watched by less than 10,000 people in the cinema, the film managed to reach a much wider audience of 4.7 million in the UK through a combination of media coverage, strong campaigning...

Exclusive: New Video has made the latest Sundance film deal, acquiring the David Sington-directed financial crisis documentary The Flaw. New Video plans a limited theatrical run and then release on DVD, VOD and digital platforms. Sington's documentary tackles the financial meltdown, and gets its title from U.S. Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan's acknowledgment that he'd discovered a flaw in his model of how the world worked. Sington, the British filmmaker who previously made In the Shadow of the Moon, breaks down in detail the reasons behind the 2008 crisis, from credit default swaps to greed and avarice. The film was produced by Christopher Hird (The End of the Line), Luke Johnson and Stephen Lambert of Studio Lambert. The film debuted last Friday. "The Flaw delves into one of society's most pressing concerns with precision and intelligence," New Video acquisitions president Mark Kashden said. "We wanted to be sure David's...
