A good episode for developing some of the kids, and also giving a good life lesson about parenting too.

Probably because the Mother wasn't the main character. Bombay basically carried the episode.
In this episode the 2 girls got some character development. While the 2 other boys still haven't done anything.
The episode was really about Evan's dad showing up then not wanting to show up then its revealed he really doesn't give a blip because he's a jerk.
Overall, it was a good episode. The first good episode of the series so far.
What can be learned? Not much
