'Tis Cheaper To Have Loved And Lost
boblipton24 December 2019
Two friends are both in love with the lovely widow Gigetta Moreno. When they duel and one is victorious, he is happy with his conquest for about sixteen frames. After that, the dressmaker, hatmaker and other tradesmen present their bills for the wares sold her.

It's a well set-up situation comedy, with slapstick regular Oreste Grandi and Ernesto Vaser out of their slapstick rags and into polite attire. It's often forgotten that slapstick actors were actors who could sustain the rigors or often bone breaking falls.

Although the outcome of this short is telegraphed by the exaggerated style of pantomime the player use, it is highly amusing.
