Staged is another Lockdown offering. A comedy drama with Michael Sheen and David Tennant being persuaded by director Simon Evans to rehearse Pirandello's Six Characters in Search of an Author over Zoom.
Tennant is happy to do it but he needs to persuade Sheen and along the way they banter.
As with other productions made during lockdown, it is people talking to a video screen. Although there are shots that reference to mass panic buying in the supermarkets and toilet rolls on a production line.
Going by the first episode, I do think the inspiration is the Steve Coogan/Rob Brydon vehicle The Trip. Apart from these two are stuck at home.
It looks unrehearsed but Sheen is clearly acting. The first episode had Sheen winding up Tennant with his painting skills and then trying to get his name first on the screen credits.
It was ok but I need to see how the other episodes progress.
