This episode is a lot better than the first two, because some of its humor actually lands. It still has some problems (like Rainbow's delivery of a written joke being awful), but they don't completely bring the episode down. The characterization also for once is relatively consistent, with Fluttershy's actions being quite believable.

Overall, it's a reason to be hopeful for the series, if this is about the average we can expect.

Yes, that is right. The more I watch, the more I realize I kind of like the series. Maybe this stuff is my guilty pleasure, but I enjoy watching. Specifically this episode is pretty fun and cute. The humour is decent and I am okay with new animation style.

Yes, I have been such a huge fan of My Little Pony for several years. As a fan I like Pony Life. Pretty decent series.

So far with 'My Little Pony: Pony Life's', all four episodes had quite interesting premises. They were also though premises that could go either way of either being easy to relate to or being bland and nothing new. With "Cute Pocalypse Meow" (no surprises what famous film that title is parodying), much of it was really interested in seeing what it would do with the least well developed Mane 6 character Fluttershy, though was not sure whether the scenario would suit her.

Also was hoping that the episode would do a better job than what was done with Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Applejack in the previous three episodes. The good news is that of the four episodes up to this still early stage, "Cute Pocalypse Meow" is the episode that fouls up its focused on main character the least. The not so good news is that it suffers from pretty much all the things that the previous three episodes did, as well as having a supporting character that unbalanced the episode too much.

"Cute Pocalypse Meow" does a pretty good job with Fluttershy, who was identifiable and in character with her actions and actions much more believable than seen with other members of the Mane 6 in the previous episodes. She has personality and any flaws or personality traits are not overdone.

The voice acting is valiant, Andrea Libman does give Fluttershy a lot of nuance and brings out her characteristics more than believably without going over the top. Did like the moral, which is relevant and not as preachy or as shoe horned as other episodes of 'My Little Pony: Pony Life'.

However, a lot is wrong with "Cute Pocalypse Meow". The worst thing about the episode is the character of Bubbles, who is truly obnoxious. There is also absolutely no chemistry between Bubbles and Fluttershy, too much of a mismatch and just didn't buy Fluttershy trusting him so easily despite the "not what he seems" vibe being so predictable. Any tension is paper thin and is both forced and bland, actually questioned its point. The rest of the characters are not well used and don't shine all that much, very little character complexity.

Furthermore, the humour here is very childish, embarrassingly so in the first half, and not near enough, certainly not remotely amusing. Once again the story is simplistic and predictable, as well as resolved far too easily. There is nothing imaginative or vibrant about the animation, which is rushed and careless looking throughout. Indicative of rushed deadlines and low budget. The music is like cheesy high school quality and never fits with what goes on. The theme tune is grating. The writing is limp and unimaginative.

Charm and soul are completely absent, thanks to disliking Bubbles so much, and again a bad job is done making the show accessible for a wide audience, due to the immature humour and the reinforcing of the gender and age bracket stereotype that is associated with 'My Little Pony'.

In conclusion, weak despite doing a pretty decent job with Fluttershy. 3/10.
