"Dysfunctional Marriage" is a DVD consisting of a pair of Joanna Angel vignettes about marriage for Bree Mills' "Pure Taboo" series, neither one of merit.
Better of the two is "Breaking the Vow" starring newcomer Keira Croft, introduced as a blonde trying on lingerie anent an upcoming meet up with old lothario Steve Holmes after they've connected on-line. She decides to put on a black wig after he specifies such a preference, with director Angel pulling a sleight of hand in that the actress is a brunette, and the actual wig used here is the blonde one.
There follows a strong anal sex scene, with the tacked on surprise gimmick ending the best thing in the hour-long XXX scene. We don't find out much about Holmes' marriage or see his wife since Angel is committed to sex content rather than a proper scene set-up.
More conventional is "Maid of Honor" starring Jane Wilde in the title role. She portrays bride-to-be Angel's stepsister who shows up as an unwanted house guest four days before Angel's planned nuptials.
WIlde systematically sabotages Angel's preparations, with the scenario presented unconvincingly with a gimmick that she gets Joanna to give her her phone, then uses it to cancel all sorts of things. The groom Small Hands dislikes Jane immediately, and when her actions quickly come to light, he and Joanna confront the saboteur, only to turn on a dime into an instant sexual threesome, supposedly to teach the girl a lesson.
This is a prime example of the series' disinterest in credibility, undercutting a vignette's set-up in order to "cut to the chase", namely get on with the explicit sex scene which always takes up the bulk of the running time.
