The trainees are learning how to use ice-cream cars today, and will be trying for their Ice-Cream badges. The great Frostini is going to test them on their skills. When Wilson's car breaks down, Puffer Pete comes to the rescue, pulling out his old steam driven ice cream wagon from the back of the rolling stock store - where it has sat for thirty years. Wilson thinks the clanky old car is an embarrassment and is sure he'll be humiliated in front of his hero Frostini. But with Pete's help, he learns how to make the most of the car's unique qualities. It turns out that Frostini loves vintage ice cream cars, and is full of admiration for a very happy Wilson.

Wilson has been given the important job of bringing the refrigerated ice cream cars from the ice cream factory to the Ice Cream Tasting Fair. The refrigeration cars are heavy, so he'll have to take them one at a time. Wilson makes the first trip successfully, but when his hero - cool ice cream chugger Frostini - offers to give him a tour of the factory, he forgets all about the important job he has been charged with. Frostini shows Wilson the ice cream making process and teaches him about all the wonderful flavours. Wilson is in his element until he remembers his deliveries. He doesn't want to show himself up in front of Frostini or let Vee down so Wilson decides he can make up the time by taking all the cars all at once. But of course he soon runs into trouble with such a heavy load and has to swallow his pride and ask the great Frostini for help.

Vee needs someone to pull the royal carriage for the prince of Buffertonia. Chuggers race in to get the job, but Harrison is first - thanks to cutting some corners and running a red light or two. Happy to have the job, he goes off with Puffer Pete to learn the route. Pete notices that Harrison has got into some bad habits. He takes shortcuts, ignores signs and breaks the speed limit. Pete tells Vee she'd better find someone else to pull the prince's carriage. A desperate Harrison says he'll do anything to keep the job! Vee sends Harrison back to the training yard to refresh his knowledge of the rules of the rails - with the trainees. Harrison can't resist showing off at first - but eventually he realises that he's setting a bad example for the trainees, who look up to him. With the help of a pep talk from Wilson, Harrison studies properly, passes his test, and is proud to pull the royal carriage through Chuggington as everyone cheers.

Koko has her first big solo delivery job, picking up timber and delivering it to the paper mill - that is if Old Puffer Pete gets out of her way! In spite of Pete's admonition to 'take it slow and steady,' Koko speeds toward the timber yard, nearlyploughing into a family of squirrels! On her return she encounters the squirrels again - but this time she has to make an emergency stop, spilling her load! Old Puffer Pete chugs up behind her and re-loads the logs onto her car with his crane - which gives Koko an idea. She tells Pete to use his crane to wedge one of the logs between two trees, making a bridge for the squirrels. Now they won't have to make that dangerous journey across the tracks. And Koko's learned an important lesson from Pete - to take things slow and steady!

The trainees are learning to use the paint wagon. Wilson has trouble concentrating, so while Koko and Brewster learn how to mix colours, Puffer Pete takes Wilson to Old Town for some extra painting tuition. Wilson is great at doing wild, artistic designs, but Pete says he also has to learn how to paint with control. With Pete encouraging him, Wilson does it! He rushes back to show everyone, but no one's there. He decides to paint one of the roundhouse doors to show what he's learned. Then Wilson sees a butterfly. A picture of a butterfly would look great on that door! He paints one. Chatsworth tells Wilson he shouldn't have done it without Dunbar's permission. Wilson sadly paints over the butterfly with a perfect coat of paint. But Chatsworth knows a great place for Wilson to do some art... and when Brewster and Koko get back, they see that artistic Wilson has painted a stunning mural on the training yard wall: it's Dunbar and the three trainees!
