Warning: Spoilers
What we have here is the music video for the song "Wonder" by Canadian recording artist Shawn Mendes. It's honestly titles like these that make me question the fact that music videos have become a thing here on imdb, but I guess that they are motion as well by definition. Then again, it is also true for many "real" movies to lack creativity, vision and quality altogether, so nothing out of the ordinary for this one we got here. At least it is really short at over three minutes, but still under 200 seconds. No big names in the cast here as it is all about Mendes from beginning to end really. The female fans especially will appreciate seeing lots of naked skin from the man, his tattoos and also a see-through shrt on one occasion. If there is any reason to watch this one, then it is definitely not the utterly generic song with totally forgettable lyrics you hear in the process, even if you could think so as Mendes tries his very best to make it seem special. All make-believe though. His voice is nothing great by any means.
What makes it worth seeing a bit are the nature recordings, the water fountain etc. Some solid stuff there visually, but nothing you won't see in most mediocre wildlife documentaries either. It's just that it is not as terrible as everything else about this one here. So yeah, what can I say. I am honestly glad it was this short and difficult to believe that this is probably gonna have over 100 million views on Youtube when it's there for a year. Basically, the outcome here is in a nutshell what is wrong with pop(ular) music these days. Luckily, it was not a huge commercial success in terms of record sales. Director and co-writer Matty Peacock has worked with the likes of Billie Eilish, Selena Gomez and Carly Rae Jepsen in the past, so this tells you as well what to expect here. Mendes himself is also credited as a writer. Well, guess what's worse than not writing your own songs? Writing empty pretentious nonsense like this one here. Highly not recommended.
