So-so beginning to mediocre series

"Kak kazaki kulesh varili" is a 10-minute short film from almost 50 years ago and it was the beginning of the Cossack series. Several other short films should follow in the next 10 years and the only episode I quite liked was the one about football. This one here looks still very basic. It is obvious this one is the first. The animation is not very good, inferior to later approaches and the story isn't good either. Cossacks are shown as tough fighter really instead of funny little smart warriors. It is a very different film compared to the next. i didn't laugh once watching this one, so I am glad it did not run for 18 minutes like some of the others. However, the good thing here is that you won't need subtitles for the entire series. There is no spoken dialogue in there, so you can always understand everything, no matter what your country of origin is. However, this first film here I cannot recommend. Thumbs down.
