Rob Zombie’s reboot of The Munsters opens with Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang and his assistant Floop hanging out in a graveyard looking for the zombified remains of the world’s greatest pianist. He needs its hands for the project he’s working on, building the perfect man.
That segues into an introduction to the rest of the crew. The Count throws his back out rising from his coffin and his servant Igor who has to fix it. Lily who, in a nod to Type O Negative, is on a date with Nosferatu. And Lester a werewolf who seems to be estranged from his father. What about Herman? Nude Nuns with Big Guns (2010)
Directed by Joseph Guzman
Runtime 91 minutes
Co-written (with Robert James Hayes II) and directed by Joseph Guzman (Run! Bitch Run! {2009}), Nude Nuns with Big Guns is one of those films that I thought I would love, based on my experience with nunsploitation films, but it turned out to be just average.
Sister Sarah (Asun Ortega) took her vows with a church/convent that ended up part of a drug ring. The nuns were abused and forced to do all of the work of cutting and packaging the drugs while the priests and Mother Magda (Emma Messenger) collected all of the money. Sister Sarah is handed over to the big dealer Chavo (David Castro) when a delivery doesn’t go as planned. She is shot full of heroin and put to work as a prostitute. After being beaten by Brother John...

Look, bad things happen in the water. Kids pee in pools, ocean-dwelling, antisocial sharks eat... well, you know that story, and in the upcoming flick Dead Sea, an overgrown lamprey spends considerable time munching on lake-dipping, scantily-clad people’s bits. We caught up with the film’s star Devanny Pinn recently, who dished on the Brandon Slagle ‘blood and bikini’ feature. Written and directed by Slagle, who previously helmed the feature The Black Dahlia Haunting, Dead Sea stars (in addition to Pinn) Alexis Iacono (The Penny Dreadful Picture Show), Britt Griffith (Syfy's Ghost Hunters), James Duval (Donnie Darko), Chanel Ryan (Bad Kids Go to Hell), Candace Kita (Nip/Tuck), Tawny Amber Young and Kj McCormick, and revolves around a marine biologist who reluctantly returns to the town she grew up in, only to encounter the violent paranoia that has overtaken its locals as they prepare for the return of a...

It's the reign of the robots on screen, even though Spielberg's Robopocalypse went back to the drawing board for a total rethink.
Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim will show pilot-operated machines tackling an invasion of giant monsters, another Transformers is on the way and the next X-Men film is an exciting time-travel tale that will see mutant-hunting Sentinels targeting the team.
Continuing the trend but on a much smaller scale is Robot & Frank, which will be released in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on March 8, 2013.
An official UK poster was recently unveiled for the movie, which is directed by Jake Schreier and stars Frank Langella, Susan Sarandon, James Marsden and Liv Tyler, with Robot voiced by Peter Sarsgaard.

This will be the year that revenue from streaming passes revenue from DVD sales, according to a recent article in the Hollywood Reporter.
How do we feel about this? I ask as a movie-watcher who subscribes to Netflix, Hulu and Fandor, and also rents online from Amazon and Vudu. iTunes gets none of my business because the iTunes Store has been misbehaving on my computer. I average three streaming movies a week and three or four on DVD. I'm not an average consumer, because a lot of my viewing is for work. But often of an evening I'll stream for pleasure. All of my streaming happens through a Roku Player on HDTV.
Does anyone recall the time when HBO was first test-marketing Movies on Demand? There was much hilarity when it was learned that their Florida test market wasn't exactly a model of digital automation. Apparently actual employees were taking...

A New poster and the first full trailer have been unveiled for Zeroinside Films' new sc-fi found footage project Area 51 Confidential.
The movie sees people from various walks of life held captive outside a secret government installation rumoured to contain extraterrestrial life. A teaser trailer was unveiled in May 2011.
The found footage subgenre - in which a movie is presented as an amateur video recording of actual events - has previously been thrust into the spotlight by such films as Paranormal Activity, Quarantine, Cloverfield and perhaps most famously by The Blair Witch Project.
This latest production is presented under the guise of a "military training video for new hires at the facility known as Area 51."
It follows the plight of a handful of individuals - a broadcast journalist, a documentarian, a teenage girl from Roswell, an army Colonel, and a man who had previously been thought "missing" for...

“Presented under the guise of a “military training video for new hires at the facility known as Area 51″, we follow the plight of a handful of individuals – a broadcast journalist, a documentarian, a teenage girl from Roswell, an army Colonel, and a man who had previously been thought “missing” for a number of years – as they awaken in the desert area surrounding Area 51.
With no knowledge of how they arrived there, they must sort out their differences and find a way out – before strange lurking creatures find them first.

“Hell hath no fury like a nude nun scorned.” All kidding aside, Nude Nuns with Big Guns is quite simply a bad movie. It's an action film that tries so hard to follow in the footsteps of Quentin Tarantino but fails miserably. Not only is the film violent but it's highly offensive, featuring priests and clergymen as corrupt, evil murderers and drug-pushers. This train wreck is now out on Blu-ray, but we strongly advise against purchasing it.
The story follows Sister Sarah (Asun Ortega), a nun who is treated badly by the clergy. One night, she is drugged and left for dead by the same people. She then gets word from God to seek revenge on those who wronged her. The rest of the movie has her arming herself to the teeth like she’s Rambo, and then Sister Sarah blasts her way to justice putting bullet holes in everyone...

Mayan prophecies notwithstanding, terror will be coming to video stores nearly once every three weeks. The following titles are just but a taste of the mainstream releases. Valentine’s Day, however, will offer North American audiences a hint of what may be a very controversial title for some, and a godsend to others just because of the subject matter:

Pure exploitation trash with a veneer of style.
Catholic schoolgirls, Rebecca (Christina DeRosa) and the virginal Catherine (Cheryl Lyone) are selling bibles door to door to raise money for school when they knock on the door of the wrong house at the wrong time.
In the house is gang leader and pimp, Lobo, played by Peter Tahoe who has just shot and killed one of his ‘girls’ for stealing his drugs. Lobo and his gang kidnap the girls, and Rebecca is killed while being forced to play Russian roulette. Catherine is then taken out to the woods where she is raped and left for dead.
Naked, she eventually stumbles onto the highway where she is picked up by a passing motorist and taken to a hospital. Soon she recovers, and feels compelled to exact her revenge on her assailants.

Bill Oberst Jr. is the definition of “the horror actor”, the working actor doesn’t prefer anything outside of the horror genre and wouldn’t have it any other way. Oberst has some cool projects in the works including Vivid and Legend of the Red Reaper, he shares some stories about working on True Blood and MTV’s upcoming horror series Death Valley. The actor keeps busy for sure! Check out my latest Versus with Bill Oberst Jr. to learn more about this hard working cool actor.
Brian S- First off you've really been cranking out film projects since 2007. How'd you get into acting?
Bill Oberst Jr.- I was a bizarre-looking kid who loved monsters and the other kids made fun of me. I learned a useful equation: "If You Entertain People, They Will Not Hit You." So my whole career has pretty much been about trying to get people not to hit me.
