Too political too preachy too ageism
Saving2115 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'm ok with shows showing political issues, in this world it's must. But in NCIS LA it's not really working. Trough the seasons NCIS LA didn't dealt with political issues, if they did, they did low key, didn't preach to us how things are bad or injustice just gave us what is going on and how they are trying to do the right thing. They did good episodes with white extremist but always went the subtle way. This episode was too much, first we had young agent Roundtree giving another federal agent speech about how she is wrong when she's just trying to do her job and didn't show any real hatred for one side. Then I had preaches by the other characters telling us how things are wrong preaching to our team.

The new guy was more annoying when he just preached to Sam on how to do stuff, only when callen showed up we were rescued!! Let's do the job right way no preaching wohooo. I want to like the new characters but this episode made the new guy just too self righteous, Fatima was better she stayed away bc she knew this is something she shouldn't be really involved and when she could help she did, subtle way not giving lectures.

they are doing too much with telling us how our beloved team is old , we had Roundtree telling Sam how he needs to deal with his younger daughter and her boyfriend bc Sam doesn't understand And cant investigate young people. When in the past Sam and callen both could deal with younger people w/out thinking their age is a problem. The same went with Deeks&Kensi again they are old and don't know anything. Not to Mention this season we had Deeks being too old for The NCIS training. It feels like they are telling us the viewers the team is too old and can't really do anything.these guys are only in their early 50's to middle of 30's it's really getting to be ageism.

Where is Nell?? This is the third episode she is out?? Why not telling us the reason , bad writing.

I liked it...

Warning: Spoilers
I thought this was a decent episode but it didn't leave second gear and never had a finale it deserved which is understandable because you wouldn't want an agent brutalizing a citizen even after he kidnaped and tortured his daughter.

NCIS: Los Angeles has never been too political unless it's America first(the whole war against terror thing). In the earlier season, it gave hints that they had no problem with Islam but not much in the way of all-out support of anything political.

If there is any political theme to this show on the basis of race, religion, or sexual orientation. I'd have to go with religion. Two Muslim agents and here and there support but overall it's 'politically' aligned to America which I see as Patriotic and not political.

The Frogman's Daughter
bobcobb3018 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It seems like daughters of agents only show up on these CBS shows to get in trouble. Hey, it could be worse, but would it kill them to give family members a meaningful storyline?

This wasn't a bad episode, it was all action, which can be a good thing when executed, but the story was so thrown together. An underground bunker or lair with jail cells for absolutely no reason?

Just weak writing and development here. I like the intensity and the action we did get, but we deserve better than this as fans.

The show is trying though, so I'll give them credit for this. This was a break from the formulaic junk we had been getting.

Positively picking up where NCIS New Orleans left off
willis-james23 February 2021
Nice to see another NCIS show picking up and creating more episodes around the social and racial justice topics.

The fact that this episode was about a peaceful protestor being kidnapped and yet it's left so many conservative reviewers here butthurt, shows that it is still a serious topic that needs airtime.

Don't listen to those reviewers too insecure to address racial equality and prejudice. Keep it up NCIS LA.

Bad
ay69 March 2021
I had thought some of these bad reviews might be being unfair, but now I've watched the episode, I see they're right. It's bad. So bad. Sam being an ass, Kensi being an ass, both seasoned, trained professionals, at least one with military experience, but neither can keep a lid on their emotions and behave professionally when faced with personal issues or situations. Deeks revealing some hitherto unknown personal information that's pertinent to his core character, yet longterm personal and professional partner Kensi didn't know it already? Fatima being inspired, knowing what might be wrong with a security camera system and how to fix it, and the fix turns out to be hitting the monitor. Ridiculous. And why was the system even switched on if it supposedly didn't work? And "Megan Merkle"? Oh good lord... Oh, and the unnatural janky motion and weird frame rates in the close up action sequences in the last two episodes, not nice, it doesn't work, it feels and looks wrong.

Whoever wrote and directed this episode should hang their heads in shame, and possibly consider a career change.

Was this script written by teenagers? Deserves zero but IMDb insists on one star.

What is happened to a once great show
pierce196611 March 2021
Is the network deliberately trying to get this show cancelled. The new characters just don't work Eric's new persona and the Storylines of the long term cast is a shambles

Watching this is a complete waste of time
ctherit5 June 2021
Without a doubt, the all time worst episode in the series. This set such a new low point that hopefully it will remain the worst for a long time to come. Or at least I can hope so as I would have to stop watching the series if this is the direction the show is heading.

Woke Social Justice Crap on Hormones
jdgtc116 February 2021
This story line is a substandard attempt at being woke. It is beneath what we have come to expect from this show. I get using relevant current events in the storyline, but this is over the top. This show is capable of so much more. Do better!

Total pandering political fantasy

This has to be the worst episode in all 12 seasons on NCIS LA. Literally painful to watch.

Sad
greydug30 March 2024
Another episode of Hypocrite Hannah and his "I and mine are the only ones that matters" mentality.

When Deeks was freaking out over Kensi being kidnapped... Hypocrite Hannah got in his face When Callen was freaking out over his father and/or Anna... Hypocrite Hannah got in his face But when it's Super Sammy's family or friends, then all must do as he says and let him do as he wants... just like when he went off the rails over his wife getting killed.

Makes sense why he went to Mexico for Mosley... he and her are the same type of people... pathetic, me first hypocrites who think there are 2 sets of rules... rules for them and rules for everyone else.

Sam is a lousy character.

Social justice garbage

Yet another show to commit suicide at the altar of the liberal agenda. It's a disgusting pattern and if this episode represents the ongoing trend I will no longer be watching it.
