A murder on Clapham common.
Sleepin_Dragon26 June 2023
Leon Beron, an immigrant, one who didn't speak a word of English, is brutally murdered and robbed on Clapham common, prime suspect is a man known as 'The Australian.'

Another well presented, well made and intriguing storyline. A fine cast, including Martin Marquez.

Two really interesting topics here, we have Leon's murder, and we have that attempted theft at The Jewelers. Interesting to consider if the crimes were linked, there's no definite evidence, but did one crime lead to the other?

Stinie was definitely a charismatic man, a charmer, with his flash suits and readiness to splash the cash. Where on Earth was he getting all that money from, and where on Earth did he get all of his energy from?

Definitely a few suspects for this one, I'm not sure I quite see Stinie as Leon's killer, his death seemed almost ritualistic, that bizarre dressing, that strange marking with SS, it had to be more than just a robbery.

8/10.

An Uncommon Murder
Prismark1017 September 2023
In the east end of London. Some communists anarchists get into a fracas with the police that lead to some deaths.

Leon Beron was a well to do Russian Jew who arrived to England from Paris many years earlier. He was a slum landlord. Despite living in London for some years he did not know English. People knew he had money, he was also involved in fencing stolen goods.

There were also rumours that Leon Beron was a police informant. Despite his various activities, which includes taking a cut off prostitutes earnings, dealing in stolen goods, he had a clean police record.

When Beron is found dead, with marks of 'S' cut to his face. He was also robbed.

Steinie Morrison was another flamboyant emigre. A Russian Jew who told tall tales. That is why he was known as the Australian. He was quickly arrested and imprisoned.

Edward Woodward regards the evidence as circumstantial despite Steinie recently coming into some cash. The marks on Beron indicated a ritual killing, that of a police informant. Beron might have informed on the anarchists.

A lot of conjecture but it was always likely that Steinie Morrison was the correct culprit.
