Watch at your own risk of boredom

I understand they probably had a low budget, I know they probably have a deep respect and love for the genre, but my gosh man I couldn't even get through the first 40 minutes.

The effects are terrible, and i wouldnt mind that as much if the acting or story was good but sadly they are not.

The story is bizarre and the monsters are uninteresting, the monster action is the biggest disappointment, I was really looking forward to good monster suit action, but after seeing them I knew that wasn't gonna happen. I bought this at walmart for 10 bucks and it isn't even worth that, I dont know if I would have paid 5 knowing what is it now.

Explosive action
keithomusic6 February 2022
What a disappointment, I had expected a low budget for this movie, but this was extremely low, I can't imagine this costing more than 100,000 yen. The best part of the movie fro me was the only woman in the cast, she seem to have some acting chops. The rest of the movie, at least the parts where I didn't fall asleep, were atrocious and hilarious at the same time. The monsters were just toys, no one in rubber suits. The locations seem to be limited to one or two rooms, and a couple of outside locations at night. But the monster battles were pictures of explosions and fire that overlay the monsters. Although the tank movements weren't bad, even though they were constantly reused. A nice effort, they were obviously trying to be hokey and parody Kaiju movies. But you might be better imbibing your favourite mind altering substance and watching it.

God monster
BandSAboutMovies24 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The third film of Shinpei Hayashiya's "Deep Sea Monster Series," this is the sequel to 2009's Raiga: God of the Monsters.

Raiga returns, rising in Atami Harbor and attacking the city as another monster, Ohga appears to attack him. As the city is destroyed, the defense force launches a new KAMIKAZE as well as a drill tank named Gokumei. As always, the real issue might be the government, who looks at the destruction of the city as a way to make room for a new casino.

It takes so many weapons to take out these two monsters, including pulse weapons, a Gatling Robot, tanks, planes, helicopters, a NI-26 Amphibious Combat Vehicle and a Plasma Photon Bomb that won't just take out the creatures but anyone near it. Spoiler warning: It also creates a whole new monster, Kuga, which makes its way to Hawaii and a battle with the volcano-generated Dias.

There are moments here where your brain may just give up with all the strobing and colors on screen. There are even scenes where action figures take the place of human beings. This also has dumb government officials - like a comedy version of Shin Godzilla - working with CIA agents that may as well be Ellwood and Jake Blues.

How did this piece of crap get a 4.8 rating? This is the cheesiest movie I have ever seen. If this garbage gets a 4.8, that calls into question any of these ratings.

im 10 at heart though
godinamachine18 May 2023
HEY EVERYBODY ITS ME (4) and today we review ......go-jeeeraaaaaaaaa ....the movie

are you 10 years old? ...then youll love this ..... are you an overly obsessed filmaholic for giant monster films from japan ? ..... then youll love this .... are you a super freak for high quality films ? ......well then ...you might want to pass ...hard on this one .......

i personally own this on and the first film as well ..... because im the first question at heart and the second question 100% lol.... HOWEVER this film is rough and i mean sand paper on tender spot kind of rough ....first the pacing is breakneck speeds in a bad way .... adhd has problems keeping up here ... its just bam bam bam different things going on so fast you dont have time to process anything ... story line ?....maybe ... connections to characters ? ..probably ? ... new characters/vehicles every 3 minutes absolutely .....

honestly no one could tell you anything going on in this film other than explosions ..a guy with an eye patch yelling and some monsters hidden under tons of over lays

the FX were terrible .... i mean i make pretend film trailers etc and i make mine bad on purpose and they look 10 times better ....and im not even bragging here lol.... the monster suits look good FOR WHAT LITTLE YOU CAN SEE through the huge amounts of layers of overlayed explosions and fire and sparks and electricity .... next time let the stars shine please ... and the toys used for the vehicles to attack the monsters ... just let us see them ..we know they are toys ....its fine we accept that kind of things in these films ..... but putting that much overlayed visuals on top makes it impossible to see whats going on and the whole thing becomes a muddy mess .....

now IF i was a 10 year old and needed something to watch on the car ride to grammys house ....YUP throw this on and ill be entertained ...BUT over all this film and the others like it from this director are obvious cash grabs during the amercian godzilla film releases ....and i cant blame him ... if the asylum guys can do it why not have more giant monster movies ...im all for it 100% .... i love these films .... the good ..the bad ...and the ugly .....

scoring soley on the type of film it is however

2/10.

Phenomenal movie !!!
blainepullin23 March 2024
This is so poorly done and campy it is terrific. The human characters are so over the top. Commander Kito is excellent. Leading the charge to protect Japan from these kaiju. The Prime Minister who wants to use the battle to clear out a city where he has plans to build a casino. The villains are campy. This is a true comedy.

The special effects are worth talking about. The kaiju costumes look okay, but hard to see thru all of the Commodore 64 special effects covering them. There are scenes in a meeting room where the characters are actually action figures, moved in stop motion. Awesome.

If you enjoy MST3K type movies, where you can just sit back, laugh and enjoy, this is it. I love tokushutsu. Remember, this is a bad movie, but in a good way. The only way this is high art is if you are high.

Hilarious.

Warning: Spoilers
This is a sequel to the film 'Raiga God of the monsters', and is a chronically low budget film, that really doesn't take itself seriously at all. The actors are... limited, but are either playing for laughs, or deliberately hamming up the seriousness of the scene. Basic plot line is that, several years after Raiga was seen off by the Japanese navy, it returns to battle both the military, and 'Ogha', another giant monster. The battle scenes are home computer low budget, some scenes are literally army action figure stills with voice over for sets there clearly wasn't the budget for, and a military super weapon is a hilarious knockoff of a Games Workshop Warhound titan, with Nerf gattling guns for arms, complete with Nerf bullets. This is only for fans of kaiju movies who just want to complete their lists, and those who just want some fun weirdness. 6/10 for everyone clearly just having fun making it.
