The Simple Life is trying to give a move a few counties away the same gravitas as a move to the other side of the world. The messages from friends and family section is just weird when they are talking about moving a few hours down the road. It doesn't really work. Being within the UK there are taking about areas that viewers are familiar with. Today's episode was the Parker family moving from a London suburb to Dorset. Dad would love a boat so they get shown properties nowhere near the coast??? The family had a healthy budget that could buy property along most areas along the South Coast yet they are shown properties a good 40 min drive from the closest Marinas. Escape to the Country is already occupying the suburbs to country space and appear to have much better quality of property. I'm not sure what this program is trying to do. The presenter is the best part of a rather odd property program.

Omg people are moving an hour away and they're all crying at the family and friends segment 😩 Who thought this was watchable!!!

We can't travel at the moment really and moving house is stressful at the best of times. This show has been a joy while we're so restricted. All the fun with none of the hassle! So nice to meet these different families and go to lovely scenic places in our own beautiful country and see gorgeous houses. And a useful insight into whether the reality of leaving a city for a coastal/countryside life can live up to the fantasy, when it comes to the crunch of leaving family and friends behind.
