The whole is series is very pleasant to watch, you need to suspend your disbelief. However what is bothering me is that what we don't know what happened to the dog J'accuse?!?

Classic ending
AvionPrince1620 November 2021
Nice but i already knew how Assane wil do to trap Pelligrini it was pretty obvious and classic : we already seen it so many times. I enjoyed it anyway. It was pretty tense. Now im wondering what story they will make because the pelligrini story is over: we know everything and what they will do in season 3. Need to ser what happen.

Thoroughly Entertaining and Spellbound

Do not understand a word of French but with the helpful subtitles, the pace of the series, the acting, the humour and the clever flashbacks - they were all done in a slick manner. Many a times, flashbacks can create confusion but these flashbacks actually help with the storytelling and how everything gets pieced in the end. Very classy and sophisticated - loved watching Omar Sy and his sidekick plus the young sidekick too. Hope there will be a new season featuring the trio plus the kind, blurry but somehow smart detective working with his gut instincts and trustworthiness.

Chapter 10
Prismark1013 August 2021
Lupin operates in a heightened reality that requires an element of suspension of disbelief.

The final episode starts with Pellegrini believing that he is in control. Although knowing that Assane is planning to do something daring.

The setting is the charity fundraising concert. Despite the increased security Assane finds a way inside. He just needs to get Pellegrini to confess to his crimes.

As for Dumont. The other police officers discover that he is crooked and in league with Pellegrini.

The final episode of the first series delivers the goods. Bold and audacious storytelling.

Misses the mark
cmtaylor-1099314 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I adore this show. We binged all the episodes of part 2 across 2 evenings upon their release, and have thoroughly enjoyed all the episodes leading up to this finale.

Unfortunately for me, the finale missed the mark. I've stuck up for the script writing throughout the 9 previous episodes but here I find it hard to defend.

The final episode all seemed fairly pointless. The way our hero captured evidence of Pellegrini's corruption by holding a knife to his throat could have been done at any time during the series and not a concert organised by his daughter.

I also found it peculiar that the police were still after Assane for murder after the concert, when the police had found evidence to clear him of murder.

Another frustration was the fact that his ex-wife who couldn't stand Assane in the previous episode was so sad to see him go. It was also bizarre that Assane's son was so okay with Assane leaving and disappearing potentially forever.

After all the build up, I thought Assane was going to ruin Pellegrini's legacy live on stage, instead he did nothing. Another slight grumble was how the three main police officers got seats in the concert when they clearly didn't have a ticket.

And finally, why didn't they use the account set up for Pellegrini to steal donations as evidence to prosecute him, instead of actually having the funds going to the foundations. I know this meant the money was going to a good cause and was also financial blow to Pellegrini, but surely that could have been solid evidence. I thought that was the whole point of Assane using the undercover account to infiltrate Pellegrini's team.

Aside from the lazy key plot points, the production values were high as usual and I know I'll be binge watching part 3 when it comes along.

Weak season
eladron24 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
No comparison to wonderful s1. Lack of smart tricks by lupin, kidnapping a child publicly goes very quiet, he's mother agrees no to go to police while her son is missing, we waited to hear pelegrini voice recording over the speakers of the theater, the smart pelegrini doesn't suspect he is being recorded and admitted all, makes no sense. That kid they brought over earning pelegrini trust so quickly, hah?

Why he didn't rexorded him talking about the froud and play it over to the people there for example?

Everything there is just feels with the rational of a cartoon.

But entertaining, after all.

Great ending

A great ending to the season with the expected twists and turns and Lupin stunts. The storyline was well developed and the capers worked. Wrapping up the major storylines in a satisfying way and leaving you wanting more!

Part Two Review
southdavid18 May 2022
Five more episodes of the French Crime drama that were released some six months after the initial part. I enjoyed the first run, though I thought perhaps the overall plot kicked in rather heavily when I'd have preferred a little more of the wit of the first episode to prevail. This second run is almost the opposite.

With his son Raoul (Etan Simon) kidnapped, Assane (Omar Sy) assisted by Guedira (Soufiuane Guerrab) chases Leonard (Adama Niane) to an abandoned chateau where a violent confrontation is the only possible outcome. We see in flashback the relationship between young Assane (Mamadou Haidara) and Juliette (Lea Bonneau) which gives Assane an opportunity to turn present day Juliette (Clotidle Hesme) against her father.

This second run is almost spilt in two. The first two episodes deal with the kidnapping and the outcome of that situation. The next three push us back to Assane's revenge against Hubert Pellegrini for the murder of his father. As with the first season, I do end up wishing that storyline was just a touch cleverer than it is. That is had just one or two more extra twists across the run. As it was, it was fine and Omar Sy's charm is usually enough to carry the episode through to the conclusion. As with the first run though, I do feel that the odd extra story, a standalone one showing a clever robbery that explains how Assane finances his operation, would go a long way.

I'm still engaged and will watch part three when it arrives later this year, I would like a little more from the series overall though.

Unbelievable all too often
stsorrell20 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The writing is so lazy...far too unbelievable just to move the plot along.

So a cop has Assane at gunpoint. Assane tells the cop his safety is on and offers to turn it off for him. He approaches the cop slowly and reaches to supposedly turn off the safety, but instead attacks the cop. Umm..... wth is that? Can't the cop turn his own safety off? And why would the person at whom the gun is pointed offer to turn it off?

That is absolutely the most ridiculous writing ever.

While Pelligrini is held with a knife to his throat by the most wanted man in France and cops are all over the venue, why didn't he simply scream out for help??? That would have ended the entire scene immediately.

After Assane escapes the first three cops that were pursuing him by locking them outside, he walks through the building as if he doesn't have a care in the world. Not trying to hide his face or anything.

And lastly, if he's known to be a master of disguise, why didn't one single policeman look at the large black fireman that was directing everyone to the roof. His eyes gives him away, yet no one noticed (until he was outside and walking away).

I was made to believe that pelligrini was going to be ousted in a huge way publicly. The most wanted man in the country simply walks on stage at the biggest gala in Paris. He speaks a few sentences to the audience before the swat team storms the stage, then boom.... All lights go out. So the entire building's lighting system is controlled by one green button in the loft? Come on! And okay...the lights went out, but how did he escape? The lights went out but viewers were left in the dark.

If there's a season three, I won't be watching. It's too far over the top and so unbelievable that's it's hard to enjoy.

Underwhelming!
Hitchcoc9 October 2023
Assen had all the evidence and tools to give us a Christie-like wrapping up in front of all those people. My guess is that the audience had no idea what he was talking about when he stood on the stage. They may be duped no more, but for now...who knows. He uses possible deadly force to get Pelligrini to come clean and that is a bit out of character. Too heavy handed for the gentleman detective, wouldn't you say? Also, he could have done a hundred things to keep from being chased. Set up escape routes which he has done many times. I have to say that after nine episodes, this was a very bland conclusion. What does he do now?

Lupin chapitre 10
mehdimemar-0220117 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It is the story of a false good idea, that of bringing up to date the adventures of Arsène Lupin, gentleman burglar, on the big screen. There is too much repetition for nothing. And indeed, Salome sabotages the film, not as a director where he is doing quite well but as a co-writer.
