Jerry trainor is the main reason to watch
Eggoreluckadman17 June 2021
Jerry trainor is as funny as before, Miranda cosgrove and Nathan kress return to their roles with ease. The new additions to the cast will take some time to resonate but so far they seem to fit right in with the rest of the cast. Some jokes land, but some don't, the laugh track is definitely more annoying than the previous iteration.

Bad Way to Start Off
budnick-9379719 June 2021
Let me just say I have seen all of the old iCarly episodes like at least 3 times each, some episodes even more than that. I LOVE ICARLY. But this just is not it and it won't be without Sam (ik she quit acting but give her some money or something, she needs to come back). The political jokes are not needed and so are some of the new characters. We were supposed to see Carly coming back from Italy, not this. This is much worse route they could have chosen. It is very obvious they are trying to include people of colour, that's not a bad thing but its so obvious that like all the new characters they introduced were not caucasian; again no issues but it seemed way too obvious. Carly's new friend is awful, like she's not even funny and she seems way too fake. What we NEEDED was nostalgia, just didn't get that.

Episode 1

Warning: Spoilers
The nostalgia immediately kicked in, but more importantly this show is actually funny.

Loved the original, even if I was older than their target audience then, and excited for the prospect of this.

One of the new characters is annoying and doesn't fit, but what can you do.

Solid Opener!
abram-7249517 June 2021
I feel like this was a solid way to open up the revival. The nostalgia had truly came back from watching it and seeing most cast members. I still am getting use to the new characters. But i will also be honest that the first couple of minutes of the episode was rough to watch with some of the jokes not being funny and laugh track out of place but as it progress later into the episode, it all blended well all together.

Definitely not the ICarly I was expecting
hotboogiepants25 June 2021
The show is not as funny. It has too many bad words. It's all a bunch of nonsense. The only person I really like is Spencer. I think Freddie's daughter is rude and a brat. Not my kind of show at all.

Nostalgia at its finest
niyahsnewacc17 June 2021
I was worried that this revival would get butchered as iCarly was one of my favourite shows growing up and I'm very happy to say I was not let down. If you were an avid icarly fan growing up, you'll find the pilot episode nostalgic and entertaining. It's not quite at 10 stars yet but I know that over the course of this season it will eventually get there. They handled Sam's departure well and it's nice to see the cast adjust to our times and humour as well as making a slightly more adult icarly. I was also worried that they would go overboard with adult humour trying to shy away from the original kid content but they did a great job with everything. This reboot has a lot of potential and I can't wait to see what else is to come through this season! A+ OG icarly references as well.

iCarly is back!
ethanrobertson17 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It is so great to have the show I grew up with back on my television! I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this episode, but I do have some issues with it. I feel as if it flung us in way too fast without any explanation as to how we got there. There was so much they could've done to ease us into the show, but instead they just threw us in and got going. I do like how they easily explained Sam's absence and definitely left the door open for a possible *hopeful* appearance. Another problem I have with the show is that it's SO millennial, and that is only because I'm a Gen Z fan. I know that's what they were going for with it though so they definitely did it well. All in all I thought it was a great episode and I can't wait to see where the series takes us!

Great start!
sbuhrman-7479817 June 2021
Listen, the first minute or so of the pilot episode was ROUGH. The dumping of exposition and setup was super unnatural, but after the title card it really did pick up! Spencer and Freddie crush it with their supporting quips and pop ins. Carly's roommate is super funny. Carly herself goes through some moments where the writing just uses her to setup more show, but she finds her groove, too. Freddie's stepdaughter had no place in this episode and felt very unnatural. Hopefully that improves and we see a more real side of Freddie trying to be a father.

Fan of the original? Watch it!!! Never seen the original, but want to maybe try it? Give it the first 3 episodes and see how you feel. I think it's going to be a fantastic show.

Without Carly maybe, without Sam Pukett Never!
keivan-8828727 May 2023
Why do they insist on ruining the good memories we have of a show and keep going on and on with lame sequels and reboots?

This clearly is not going to work without Sam, it may even end the career life of the other actors as well.

Anyone who has watched the original series knows that Sam pukett was such a pivotal character in this show. It is simply impossible to remove her. I know she has quit acting or something, but please just try to see if there is anyway on earth you could get her to change her mind.

I watched a few episodes and did my best to connect with the new characters and vibe, but this is no iCarly.

This doesn't feel like a new start
eduardobb-3485920 June 2021
We didn't see why Carly returned from Italy, or why she's living with Harper now, they act like is just a normal regular day. I think we all hoped for and emotional episode, and this wasn't the case.

Terrible idea.
Lakerforever19 June 2021
I hate to say about this but 2007 fans were supposed to see Carly returning home from Italy. But this one is making me nuts. The plot becomes a mess, the profanities that Dan Schneider doesn't like (unless he will get a deal from Comedy Central), and the cast, including Miranda that fans became clueless, was useless. Somebody at Paramount+ will have to cancel that before anyone starts a mayhem. This. Ends. Now. #EndiCarlyNow.

Don't bother
ptp13153 October 2021
Doesn't work without Sam. None of the goofy stuff was on there except for some nonsense at the end. To me the extra new characters don't work at all.

They ruined iCarly. What's next? Disney?
Sinek_kushu4 December 2023
Why are they talking about sleeping with other people? If it was something like Golden Girls or South Park then sure talk away, but this ain't that. I understand that a certain somebody ain't at Nickelodeon anymore and that's probably why they made some changes to the show to reflect that, but not everyone is comfortable with certain topics.

Also, Millicent is just so unbearable. I dislike her character so much. (Not her actress since I don't know her nor her actual personality.) She needs to be disciplined and see what the world is actually like without the internet. Who allowed her to have social media anyway?
