Insightful and interesting

This is an excellent documentary! I live in an area with a large Mexican population, many of them undocumented. I'm the daughter of a farmer who employs immigrants and he has also married into a large Mexican family. This has given me some insight into the many reasons why many Mexicans cross the border, and I am sympathetic to what they have to go through to better their lives. But most people in my area are very unwilling to consider that there are two sides to the story and have a much different view of immigration than I do. I loved that this movie put my thought into words. Now I can just say to them "Go watch this movie. It will open your eyes." Aside from being a very accurate, this documentary is also interesting and thought-provoking. I can't say enough good words about it.

Must-see!!!!

This documentary is essential to understand the issue of immigration. If we are trying to look for a solution to this problem we need to educate ourselves and others about the matter so we take the right measures. This movie will touch your heart and show you the heart breaking reality that immigrants face, leaving it all behind in order to provide. It makes you think you would do the same if your loved ones depended on it. Roy Germano did an amazing job summarizing the root of the problem and provides great insight and options. Visit his blog as well, he has incredible articles about things that have never been said. You will enjoy this movie as you learn how fortunate we are for living in a country that looks after us and by the end you will want to do something about this. Enjoy!

Truth About Immigration
revolution4774 December 2012
The untold story about WHY people choose to leave their homes & families behind for years at a time risking their lives in the process. Leaving their children to be raised without one or both of their parents.

This Documentary tells the side of this story you never get to hear from talking heads on American TV & paints an entirely different picture from the one we are taught to believe. Especially interesting is also the consensus that has been arrived at as to how a solution ought to be offered. A very simple one at that.

Should be required viewing by every American who has ever offered an ill informed opinion of this very protracted argument which isn't only about economics but is really about peoples lives & whether or not we value them at all .

An overview of the issue of Mexican migration to the USA
kathlingo19 July 2011
This doc takes an honest, unpretentious look at the divisive issue of immigration from Mexico. While many docs on this issue play politics (The Fence) or highlight dramatic cases (Which Way Home), this doc explains the everyday realities that have led to millions of Mexicans to leave behind their homes and families to come to the USA. It lets Mexicans speak for themselves and they lay out the case for why they often feel they have no choice to come to the USA- whether they wanted to or not. It is a must watch for anyone interested in why Mexicans come to this country. The film was produced on a low budget and with little resources and the end product does suffer for it. However the information presented is very rich and the content makes it a compelling piece to view.
