'The New Scooby Doo Mysteries' to me is one of the more underrated Scooby Doo shows. Not one of the best ('Scooby Doo Where are You' and 'The Scooby Doo Show') and not one of the worst ('Shaggy and Scooby Doo Get a Clue'), but have always been fond of it warts and all. And it probably would be better known if it wasn't automatically dismissed because of Scrappy, to me he is actually tolerable in this show and is helpful in the mystery solving.

A lot of the episode couplings were uneven, with most having one episode being better than the other (sometimes the quality difference is big). A few were consistent, "Doom Service"/"A Code in the Nose" and "Showboat Scooby"/"Scooby Dooby-Ado" were cases of liking both equally, while "A Scary Duel with a Cartoon Ghoul"/"EIEIO" was an episode coupling where neither did anything for me. "Mission Un-Dooable"/"The Bee Team" is one of the uneven ones, with one being far better than the other while not being perfect itself. The quality difference isn't as drastic as "Scoob-e or Not Scoob-e"/"A Stoney Glare Stare" or "Night of the Living Toys"/"South Pole Vault" but it is a case of one episode being fun but imperfect and the other being mediocre.

"Mission Un-Dooable" (7/10)- This is the infinitely better of the two. There is a lot to like here, the animation is colourful and nicely detailed with the character animation on the robot standing out. The music fits well with the spy setting with quirkiness, also the musical number is one of the most memorable scenes of the show and is truly inspired in lyrics and choreography. The robot character is cool and funny, as well as having more menace than Mastermind, actually thought it stole the show.

Some funny jokes can be heard, such as the food order, and there is some clever unforced breaking the fourth wall. The gang are on strong form, even Scrappy and the climax is exciting and has the second most amount of jeopardy in a 'The New Scooby Doo Mysteries' episode after "Happy Birthday Scooby Doo". The voice acting is fine.

Having said all of that, it's far from perfect. It is for my tastes too short, would have been better as a 22 minute episode. With so much going on it did feel rushed. Mastermind was a rather anaemic and not particularly memorable villain, the reveal is over obvious and strongly considered early on while also being something of a stretch.

"The Bee Team" (4/10)- Never cared for this one. The music is fine, as is the regular voice acting. Have no issues with the gang and there is some amusing humour with Shaggy and Scooby.

A lot doesn't work unfortunately. It is one of the worst looking episodes of the show, with it constantly looking rushed and flat. It boasts another very flimsy plot with little to it but it also felt very rushed in the second half when trying to make up for the uneventful first. The bees are very under-utilised and pretty forgettable and the far from subtle perpetrator is pretty much obvious straight away, if anybody observes the dialogue they give themselves away pretty obviously. The first half is bland and uneventful and the second half is just strange and very lacking in suspense.

Overall, liked one episode but didn't care for the other. 6/10.
