Something Wicked had a short theatrical run in late 2014. Completed in 2009, the film claims to be actress Brittany Murphy's last movie. Though, Abandoned (2010) claimed the same thing. Something Wicked will release March 17th. And, the film is inspired by true events, involving a psychiatrist and a failing relationship. The film also stars Julian Morris, Shantel VanSanten and John Robinson. A teaser clip, for the film's release, is hosted here. The clip shows the character Susan (Murphy) dealing with a patient. Later, unmanned machines begin running as a woman screams. Then, a female character peaks out from behind a door, masked. Fans of horror or of psychological thrillers can pick up this title on March 17th. Or, fans of Murphy can see her in one of her last roles, before her tragic death. More details on the release are hosted below. Release Date: March 17th, 2015 (DVD). Director: Darin Scott. Writers: Joe Colleran and Joseph Mungra.

Something monstrous this way comes in The Frankenstein Syndrome.

Entertainment One will release the chilly (and hopefully chilling) 2009 thriller Frozen Kiss on DVD on July 12 for a list price of $24.98.
Cameron Goodman feels the chill in Frozen Kiss.
Jamie Martz (Jarhead) and Cameron Goodman (Shuttle) star as Ryan and Shelley, young lovers returning home from a party one wintry night. Engulfed by a raging blizzard, they become stranded when their car breaks down on an unfamiliar road. With the authorities unable to locate them, the pair must fight for survival against both the icy elements and the mysterious figures who appear to be trailing them.
Directed by Harry Bromley Davenport and co-starring Mimi Rogers (Abandoned) and David Starzyk (TV’s Hot in Cleveland), Frozen Kiss is premiering in the U.S. on DVD and is reportedly “based on true events that made national headlines.”
This one looks like it could play as a companion feature to Adam Green’s ski lift chiller Frozen.

Val Kilmer will play the elderly Wyatt Earp in indie Western The First Ride of Wyatt Earp, which Michael Feifer is directing. The screenplay is penned by Darren Benjamin Shepherd and the flick is now in production in California. Barry Barnholtz and Jeffrey Schenck are producing through Hybrid banner, and Peter Sullivan is co-producing.
Val Kilmer has been involved in the Wyatt Earp story once before, playing Doc Holliday in Tombstone. He earlier played the title character in the TV movie Billy the Kid, so he is definitely not a newcomer to Western.
The storyline will be about a journalist interviewing a senior citizen Earp about his legendary days as a marshal in the Wild West and they’ll show the story about his rounding up a posse to find the outlaw that mistakenly killed the woman he loved.
The reporter is Daniel Booko ( iCarly sitcom, Hannah Montana) and country...

Val Kilmer has been part of the Wyatt Earp story once before, playing Doc Holliday in Tombstone. ("I'm your huckleberry" [1] should be a line etched into the brain of any western fan.) Now he's going back to the classic tale, and this time he's playing Wyatt Earp, in the indie western The First Ride of Wyatt Earp. The film was written by Darren Benjamin Shepherd, and will be directed by Mike Feifer. The story, says Variety [2], " finds an elderly Earp sitting down with a reporter to reflect on the ride that made him a legend, when the young marshal rounded up a posse to track down the outlaw who mistakenly murdered the woman he loved." So will Val Kilmer play both the older Earp and the younger? Right now we don't know. Wilson Bethel plays Doc Holliday, Daniel Booko plays Spike Kennedy, and Trace Adkins, Miracle Laurie, Steven Grayhm and...

In last week's last-ever "Smallville" season premiere, Lois Lane (Erica Durance) took the bad advice of a Lex Luthor clone and left Clark (Tom Welling) behind for Africa. Don't worry -- the iconic duo won't be separated for long.
"Well, she comes back for Clark, of course!" Durance exclaims at the series' 200th Episode party in Vancouver. Zap2it was on the scene with all the stars to get the scoop on what you can expect from Season 10. Right now, Lois thinks that she stands in the way of Clark's true destiny.
"So far, the stuff that we've done is about her finding out where she fits in with who he is and how she can best be a partner and support him," Durance says.
"Lois likes to keep things interesting for Clark," Welling adds. "She's an interesting character. It's going to be Clark juggling the two worlds and finding...

Former Lois Lane from the Lois and Clark series, Teri Hatcher, will be joining the ranks of other Superman franchise stars to make an appearance on Smallville. Hatcher will play Lois Lane’s (Erica Durance) mother. Although the mother of Lane is dead, it seems that Lois finds some old videotapes of her mother, Ella, in the 8th episode, ”Abandoned.”
This is great news as she is the one I have been waiting for to come on the show for a bit. Hatcher landed a starring role of Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane (opposite Dean Cain) in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman from 1993 to 1997. At the height of the show’s popularity in 1995, a picture of Hatcher wrapped in a Superman cape was reportedly downloaded on the Internet 20,000 times.

Smallville's 10th season premiere "Lazarus" won't air until this coming Friday, the 24th, but already the internet is abuzz with the latest bit of iconic casting for the Man of Steel's final outing.
Following in the footsteps of her former co-star Dean Cain, Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher has joined the Women of Smallville as, you guessed it, Lois Lane's mother.
It seems Teri Hatcher's portrayal of the late Ella Lane won't coincide with the re-appearance of Lois' living family members, with Hatcher appearing via old videotape in the eighth episode "Abandoned" and Michael Ironside and Peyton List's Sam and Lucy Lane returning for the seventh episode "Ambush."
Prior to her primetime stardom as Susan Mayer of ABC's Desperate Housewives, Hatcher was best known as the iconic Superman reporter of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Former Clark Kent actor Dean Cain had previously appeared...

This week on DVD and Blu-ray I get to re-watch one of the best TV shows of the last decade, see below:

Created by: J. J. Abrams
Starring: Matthew Fox, Naveen Andrews, Jorge Garcia, Josh Hollaway, Daniel Day Kim, Yunjin Kim, Evangeline Lilly, Terry O’Quinn, Emile De Ravin, Michael Emerson, Dominic Monaghan & Henry Ian Cusick
Why should you buy this? Because (as I said above) it is one of the greatest TV shows of the past decade. It definitely doesn’t surpass my love for The Wire, but it hits a science-fiction/storytelling high that many one-hour dramas would love to reach. Not only does the show take it’s situation seriously, but it takes the treatment of its characters with such truth that you never feel taken advantage of. Even though I do have a few problems with some...

Chicago – I wonder how the movie history books will remember Brittany Murphy, who died suddenly at the end of 2009. When she went, she had a few films in some stage of post-production and one, the thriller “Abandoned,” makes its way to Blu-ray and DVD this week. The film works about as well as your average straight-to-dvd thriller but distinguishes itself a bit due to Murphy’s underrated acting ability, but this actress deserved a more fitting final note.
Blu-Ray Rating: 2.5/5.0
Especially when one considers the ugly rumors that surrounded her death combined with a few recent career decisions that pulled her out of the spotlight — most obituaries turned to “Clueless” or “Don’t Say a Word” as her most notable roles — it seems likely that history won’t be as kind to Brittany Murphy as it should be. What’s saddest is that she gave arguably the best performance of...

A glimpse into Brittany Murphy's final role is here. When she died last December, the actress had completed work on two as-yet-unreleased movies. The last one she filmed, Abandoned, will be released straight-to-dvd next week (the other one, Something Wicked, is still in production). Have a look: In the flick, also starring Dean Cain, Murphy plays Mary, a woman whose boyfriend vanishes while in the hospital for a routine procedure. She swears she dropped him off, but with no record of him ever being admitted, the hospital staff begin to question Mary's sanity and ultimately confine her. Naturally, this is where the film cues the mysterious stranger who not only knows the whereabouts of...

Thinking about Brittany Murphy makes me sad. It sucks when bad things happen to good people, and from all accounts, Murphy, despite professional setbacks in her last few years alive, was one heck of a great gal. The film is now due out on DVD later this month, August 24, 2010. Check out two clips from the film, along with the DVD and Blu-ray box arts below. Brittany Murphy died from a combination of pneumonia, anemia and prescription medication, according to the Los Angeles Coroner's report released Thursday (February 25).
The report's findings should dispel gossip that the "8 Mile" and "Clueless" actress abused alcohol and illegal drugs or was dangerously underweight. The pattern of the elevated levels of drugs in her blood "suggest treatment of symptoms of a cold or other respiratory infection," the report reads. "There is no history of alcohol or drug abuse" and "the body appears well developed, normally muscular and slim but not excessively thin."
The 84-page report said that hydrocodone and acetaminophen — both components of Vicodin — were present in her bloodstream, as well as chemicals that are active ingredients in drugstore medicine and some inhalers.

Anchor Bay Entertainment President Bill Clark added, "Releasing this young actress' last film is both an honor and bittersweet. It was important to Anchor Bay that the timing of this release be right, because we're sensitive to such a tragic loss. The last film tragic actress Brittany Murphy made before her death is set for release this summer.
The Clueless star passed away on 20 December after suffering a cardiac arrest at her Hollywood Hills home.
She finished shooting psychological thriller Abandoned in June last year with co-stars Dean Cain and Mimi Rogers - in which she plays a woman who receives a ransom demand after her boyfriend mysteriously disappears.
Distribution company Anchor Bay Entertainment has now bought the rights to the film for a North American release, bringing Murphy back to the big screen months after her death.
A statement from producers Jeffrey Schenck and Barry Barnholtz reads: "Brittany will be deeply missed by everyone who worked on Abandoned. The film is a taut thriller which portrays Brittany's character as smart and tough - and that's how we all want to remember her."
Earlier this month, the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office ruled Murphy's death was accidental, and was caused by pneumonia, with contributing factors of anaemia and "multiple drug intoxication".

All of the speculation involving the death of actress Brittany Murphy can stop now. The coroner says that she died from pneumonia and anemia. The drugs that were in her system were all prescription drugs, including cramp medication, and over the counter (cough syrup). The medication she took didn't help things at all (she wouldn't have been as bad off if she hadn't take the medication while being sick) but the actual cause of death was the pneumonia and anemia.
Of course, this doesn't mean that she couldn't have been saved. TMZ is reporting that authorities at the coroner's office say that Murphy's death was "preventable" if only she had been taken to the hospital sooner. This is probably the part of the coroner's report that family and friends don't want to hear about.
According to the IMDb, Murphy had worked on two movies before she died, 'Abandoned' and 'Something Wicked.

Look at Brittany Murphy in the stills from her last movie Abandoned. She looked So much like her one-time Girl Interrupted co-star Angelina Jolie, who starred alongside Brittany in the 1999 film.
With their similar big lips, scraggly hair, and white tank tops … the image is slightly haunting.
The movie, about a hospital for depressed, addicted, and mentally unstable girls also starred Winona Ryder and Clea DuVall. Maybe Brittany was looking to Angie for some inspiration? She plays Mary in Abandoned … a woman who has to convince herself of her sanity.

Shot back in June, she stars as a woman searching for her husband (Dean Cain) after he mysteriously disappears from a hospital following surgery. Of course, it's way harder than just a normal missing-person search because no one believes her due to her history of psychiatric issues. Just look at that doctor in the 45-second clip above giving her a hard time. Speaking out to Extra, the film's director, Michael Feifer, counters rumors that Brittany was difficult to work with.
