Solid US "Faith-Based" Movie
jcairns-468-2922827 April 2024
Very well made Christian indie drama-horror film. Solid soundtrack, camera work, acting and editing. Never felt distracted by the fact it's a low-budget indie. I would characterize it as a cross between two popular TV shows: Supernatural and Touched by an Angel. Although it doesn't go as dark as the former and stays in the G-rating territory of the latter.

Liked the main actress a lot. She really nailed the role and remained consistent throughout the film. Also interesting to see how much prayer and American Christian ideology is explained throughout the film. Was fascinating to see the heavenly light effect radiating from above when characters prayed.

Middle school play quality

I thought this was going to be a great movie since I always go by the IMDb rating and that has been pretty accurate on the quality of the film. However, it didn't take more than a couple seconds into this movie that I realized that it was highly inaccurate and this was a train wreck of a cinema. I actually had to double check and make sure that the IMDb rating was for this movie. Horrendous acting to the point that it was laughable and not in a good way. , The plot is monotonous and irksome. I truly do not know how this made it to being a suggestion on my fire stick. I would not recommend this movie to anyone that is open minded or intelligent. It's a great movie for bible thumpers and people with a two digit IQ that's about all who will enjoy this straight to dvd movie.

Worthy Effort despite low budget.

This is first and foremost a religious movie with a low budget. I almost didn't watch this, but the poorly treated daughter gifted with the ability to see & interact with angles & demons kept me watching to the end. Even with a low budget, filming and special effects were well done. The musical score was also quite good. Character portrayal & acting ranged from average(5.5/10) to lack-luster(3.5/10). The teenage characters were at the top and 2 of the 3 angles at the bottom. Directing probably had a lot to do with this. Writing and dialogue seemed awkward and spotty at times but overall, not bad. If you're looking for a big budget Exorcist(1973) or End of Days(1999) film this ain't it. If it had a much bigger budget with better directing & acting, it could have been as good as "Stigmata 1999".

Fantastic movie!

Incredible storytelling, wonderful performances and deep themes are just a few of the great things about this flick! The leading lady is extraordinary and the theme of spiritual warfare spoke to me intensely. Great work, MUST SEE! It played a ton of festivals this last year and won a bunch of awards too (like Audience Favorite at the International Christian Film Fest!)... so well deserved! I was lucky enough to see it TWICE and I can't wait to buy it on Amazon and watch it again. It's based on a book, too, so more stories are coming down the road hopefully. It's kinda like a Faith-based Twilight to put it simply, but I'm not a big fan of that series, even tho I'm a huge fan of this!

Interesting Take on a Horror Movie

"They Dont Cast Shadows" is a stellar example of a low-budget faith-based horror film that manages to captivate its audience with a compelling narrative and effective scares. This movie brilliantly weaves together elements of supernatural horror, exploring the eternal battle between demons and angels, all within the confines of a modest budget.

The filmmakers masterfully utilize atmosphere and tension, creating an eerie ambiance that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. The clever use of practical effects adds authenticity to the demonic manifestations. The simplicity of the production enhances the film's authenticity, allowing the storyline to take center stage.

Spiritual thriller!
kalanipark26 January 2024
Good film. I had a blast watching it. If you like supernatural suspense thriller films you'll enjoy it. The lead actresses, directors, and crew do a stellar job. If you are into faith based films that are not your typical film. You will absolutely enjoy this film. The gifted ability to see angels and demons is pretty cool. I like the concept especially if you believe in that type of thing. The cinematography and color grade are good as well with some nice sweeping shots. It's an original film that does well in what it's trying to accomplish. The sound effects were also good. Like I said if you like super natural faith based films, you'll enjoy it.
