BBC Natural History follows a team of scientists to Papua New Guinea where they study wild life in Lost Land of the Volcano. It has the beauty of BBC nature cinematography along with a behind-the-scenes show of how the exploration is being done. It's a three hour-long episodes mini-series. Mostly, it's jungles, insects, animals, and volcanoes.

The animals and really the insects are the stars of the show. They are really something. The less fascinating are the people. There is a lack of drama. They don't have a ticking clock to race against. They don't show any big hurdles or real drama. There is an exploding volcano which is the only big action. None of the people have great charisma. It would also help to place them on a map. It's not really a show but more like a behind-the-scene extra for a BBC nature show.

Getting old now but I still watch it over an over. They were the first to explore and discover what they did. Great team, great shooting from the camera guy. Makes you feel how they felt.
