As series eight comes to a close MI-5 have discovered Nightingale's goal but still have to stop them carrying out an attack in London which could lead to nuclear war between India and Pakistan. When an Indian submarine is captured in Pakistani waters it is taken back to Karachi where the Pakistani military, led by a general who has been linked to Nightingale, parades the crew in front of the cameras.
In an attempt to prevent a war talks between a weakened Pakistani Prime Minister and the Indian President. Unfortunately the CIA agent helping organise the security for the talks is part of Nightingale and is planning to assassinate the Pakistani leader using a bomb that can be traced back to India. Things aren't helped by the fact that Harry is suspicious of the new Home Secretary who he thinks could be a Nightingale plant. As the clock starts to run out the team are in a race against time to save the Pakistani leader and thus prevent a war... it is a race one of them might not survive.
