Very Good Look at Ruby and Oswald

JFK: The Ruby Connection (2009)

*** 1/2 (out of 4)

Very entertaining documentary taking a look at the time line that allowed Jack Ruby to kill Lee Harvey Oswald in the matter of seconds. The documentary starts off placing the two men moments after the Kennedy assassination and then we follow their movements for the next couple days. The film tries to see whether or not a conspiracy was behind the entire event and they end up re-creating the murder of Oswald just to see what would have had to happen for a conspiracy to have been involved. As with most documentaries on the subject, one is certainly going to go in with their own beliefs if whether the assassinations were just the perfect timing or if something bigger was going on for everything to work. This documentary doesn't really buy into the conspiracy angle and instead tries to show how many things happened, which allowed Oswald and Ruby to meet. This includes the delay in getting Oswald to the car, the delay in the car being in the right spot and even Oswald asking for a sweater. Overall those history buffs who know everything about the subject might not learn anything new but I think they'll at least be very entertained by the program. The documentary offers up every bit of video footage of the assassination and each one is looked at with fine detail to see if there are any new clues. The film is certainly very entertaining and should be enjoyed by those interested in the subject.
