Solid Episode
ahmadz8399 December 2022
The penultimate episode, "The Half of Ourselves We Have Lost", moves the story forward, but it leaves viewers wondering whether they should have reached this point in the tale a few episodes earlier. A shorter runtime would have benefited the series; now that it has been renewed for a second season, it can undoubtedly work on perfecting this aspect.

Nevertheless, the acting and direction continue to be the main redeeming qualities of the show. The cast delivers strong performances, and the direction sets the show apart with its suspenseful and eerie atmosphere.

The mystery remains its biggest draw, with plenty of twists and turns to keep the audience guessing. However, with all the build-up in this episode, a lot is riding on the finale. If it fails to deliver, it will leave a sour taste for the whole series.

Rating: 7.8/10 (Impressive)

People Acting in a Ridiculous Way

One would think that once tons of evidence are put in front of them, intelligent people might get a few clues. Ravi and Lucy are connected by her dreams. She has shown over and over what her abilities are, and yet off they go, half-cocked, into danger. Gideon is an interesting character, but there is so much complexity that the viewer is left wanting. Perhaps he could explain, even in an obtuse way, what is going on. Maybe it's coming. Once character I haven't mentioned is that absolute jerk of an ex-husband. He doesn't just dislike the little boy because of his quirkiness, he is abusive with him. I have a feeling he will come into play soon.

Struggling now

Warning: Spoilers
Funny how after 3 episodes I was saying "glad they got at least 1 smart cop" referring to Ravi. Then he didn't just go downhill he jumped right of a cliff.

First he doesn't think anything strange when Lucy knows a lot more about the crimes than she should. As a matter of fact he lets her rampage through the crime scenes, even letting her lead the way.

Then he becomes investigator on his partners murder? Is he the only cop in the area? I guess so because when Lucy calls and demands the address of the brother SHE becomes the lead investigator telling him he doesn't have to go at all. So he gives her the address and then rides along on her investigation. Ridiculous.

This started out promising but weak characters other than Lucy (and Jessica Raine is not enough of an actress to pull off the complex character) has resulted in things going downhill.
