Deserves a perfect score just for "Olivia and Yunan" alone

"Spider-Sprig" is a fun episode and all but the creative team clearly put their heart and soul into "Olivia and Yunan", I mean WOW. What starts out as a commonplace "rescue the ally and save the world" plot with a few thoughtful callbacks to past episodes eventually turns into a horrifying exploration of the worst parts of trauma, power and corruption. I don't want to say too much else about it for the uninitiated but they cram a LOT into 11 minutes of time.

One of the show's finest episodes for sure.

WHAT THE HECK WAS THIS??? IM. AAAA. FJDHFJD IT WAS RLY GOOD.... THE BACKGROUNDS WERE GORGEOUS BUT IM CONCERNED FOR MY CHILDREN. I DONT HAVE CHILDREN BUT I WILL AND I'LL WANT TO SHOW THEM THIS SERIES BUT WHAT IF IT SCARES THEM?? I JUST.... UGHHH MARCY MY BELOVED. HOW DARE YOU LET ME GET ATTACHED TO SUCH A WONDERFUL AMAZING CHARACTER AND THEN RIP THEM AWAY FROM ME. IM MAD. IM SCARRED FOR LIFE.

In all seriousness tho while it did shake me to my core and give me a tremendous amount of anxiety, it was really, really good. My only complaint would be that it was too short to be honest, i think i want episodes like this to be full episodes, like true colors. But overall it was beautiful and funny and heart wrenching. I am a mess and i loved it.

"Olivia and Yunan" maybe the scariest episod in this show. My second favorite episode, after "True Colors". I can't understand this persons, who really hate this show. This episode prove, that cartoons not only for kids.

But really this episode was awesome and i loved it (even though the final scene made mt stomach turn). I really recomend everyone who hasnt seen this episode yet to watch it and if you havent started the series to start it aswell. Also, marky supremacy.

While Spider Sprig was a fun lighthearted epsiode, Yunan and Olivia was the first episode to truly fill my heart with both angst and dread.

It broke my heart seeing Marcy rescued, only to be captured and tortured by The Core in order to become it's host for it's hive mind.

Her realistic screams still haunt me to this day. 😨

I am going to review these separately because i don't think there is any comparison.

Spider-sprig: 6/10 not abnormally bad but had a really predictable plot and the same lessons being learnt again and again, the girl with the coloured hair is cute though

olivia and yunan: 10/10 i knew what i was in for when i started watching this but WOW. I was hooked from start to finish, olivia and yunan's dynamic was amazing, the simulation is such a cool concept, despite knowing what was going to eventually happen to marcy i still felt the impact, i was in shock by the end. I just wish it could be in the 24 minute format. My favourite 10 minute episode so far.

The entire thing: 8.5/10.

Spider-Sprig was great, but the end of Olivia and Yunan was a nightmare. Marcy being mind controlled by King Andrias!? I haven't seen a horrifying mind controlling sequence since Incredibles 2.

Thank you really much for the sound of Marseille Wu because they were really, really natural and really wonderful. Second, Matt Berley. Third, please try the role of Marcy and Sasha. Third, please try to increase the role of Marseille and Sasha, especially Marseille.

Spider sprig is awful, Olivia and Yunai is awsome

It gets a seven only because of the second episode alone.

Spider sprig starts out pretty ok, its just a fun superhero episode episode in Amphibia style. But the ending is one of the dumbest and worst I have seen in a cartoon in a long time. 3/10

Then we have Yunai and Olivia. It makes the entire episode worth it. Its an unskippable episode with the plot alone. It develops the characters, further builds the world, and is insanely dark, but never goes over the line. It made Yunai and Olivia, 2 pretty basic and stereotypical characters, into fully fleshed people. 10/10.
