Making you look at both sides.

I got to see Shark Con at a local film festival this past year. The film was a refreshing look at the shark fishing industry. Like most people, I went into this film with misconceptions about the industry and visuals of Japanese fishing boats slicing fins off of live sharks, and tossing them back into the ocean to die.

But, when I sat down I realized there is always another side. Shark Con lets the fisherman, marine biologists and others have their say and opinions about the survival of sharks. People who depend upon the survival of sharks to make a living and support a family, were being told they could no longer do their jobs.

Both sides were represented in the film, which is rare now a days. Most doc's lean one way or the other, but Shark Con is open to every opinion and let's all have a voice. It also had some amazing shots of men working with sharks underwater. It is a well shot film and very easy to follow.

I thought it was a refreshing film that needs to be seen by more people.

Thanks for the TRUTH.

I am a Great White shark survivor and I want to thank you for the clarity on this deadly issue. After reading many books that concur with this movie we can easily see now that "protecting" sharks serves other anti-Human agendas.

Shark advocacy is not about saving sharks and never was. This film exposes that fakery and lies that have led to the deaths of so many children this last 42 years of "protection" since JAWS, the maimed and missing are another story altogether.

Thanks for the glorious truth in a sea of lies.

Trying to go to sleep?

This is not a very interesting film. I had no idea there WAS a shark controversy to begin with, and I only watched this because I was getting paid to (captioning). You'd think the filmmakers could get somewhat credible people for the film. One of the guys sounded like an idiot and only killed sharks because one killed his dog when he was 17. Really? Grow up already. I don't believe sharks of any species are extinct and scientists obviously haven't figured out a way to track data. It's not like they're being killed for fun; people eat sharks and a ton of products are made with or include shark. This was over an hour of my life I'll never get back.
