Short and sweet

This has all the beats of a classic romance novel. The leads are fairly likeable, so even if the plot is thin, this is a pleasant way to pass a few hours.

Really Romantic
PalmBeachG20 November 2022
Wasn't expecting this J-Drama to be so good and was very surprised to like it so much. Very romantic and the lead male TOTSUKA SHOTA was perfect playing the romantic role. I don't usually mention the female leads much but in this case I thought they had good chemistry and was a good match for the drama. Initially just watched it since it was a short 8 episodes and could watch it in one evening - usually watch K-drama but the romanticism brought out in just 8 episodes here far surpassed my usual dramas. Loved the script and how it was developed and also having the one episode to show the male prospective and what he was thinking all along too, which explained alot. Loved the ending! Hope to see Totsuka Shota again in future romantic dramas.

Well paced heartwarming romance

Warning: Spoilers
10/10 is my rating. This is a 2021 Japanese romantic drama with 8, approximately 25 minute, episodes. It was adapted from a manga entitled Rinko-San Wa Shite Mitai.

First I provide a synopsis then a review

Synopsis Twenty Seven year old wedding planner Rinko AmaKi (Kano Takada) is surrounded by love and romance. She seems to have it all but is hyper aware, in her late 20s she is one of the few in her circle that has no sexual experience, What is the use she thinks of being talented, beautiful and well liked if you have not crossed that one hurdle into full adulthood. Tired of her virginal state eroding her self confidence.p, she is determined to pick a partner and gain experience. But she is picky, she has criteria, which is why she has maintained her maiden hood to this point. Having a drink after work, she finds out the hot guy at work, Gen Kamisaka (Shota Totsuka) is also a virgin. He meets all of her criteria and then some so she enters an agreement with him to deflower each other. As they carry out their plan they discover there may have been more than their mutual benefit that brought them together.

Review

Thus is a well paced romance that, despite being short by Asian drama standards, tells the story well and completely. The chemistry between the leads is strong and 2nd guy puts in just enough 2nd lead syndrome to make it interesting. It has some sexier, steamy scenes but they fit the premise and they do not go so far that you wonder if you are watching pornography. It was one of the few where I liked it so much, and it ended so well, I rewatched the ending. If you like warm fuzzy romances with a happy ending then this is a must watch. I would recommend this to others and will watch again.
