Later, Creighton goes on to a tour of his city, stopping to eat at a favorite place; he is generous enough to drop a 20 dollar bill in Annie's violin case, which surprises her. Creighton takes the ferry where he bums a cigarette from a man. Standing by the railing Creighton is lost to his thoughts. The man that gave him the cigarette looks, but he is no longer there.
Toni goes to see LaDonna to impress on her an autopsy on Daymo will add to the case about his death. LaDonna does not want to hear it; she figures it will not bring Daymo back to life. LaDonna and her mother go to the cemetery. The family monument is in ruins. LaDonna figures the maintenance is high for the condition the grave site is. The manager offers no explanation, other than it was an act of God.
LaDonna needs two thousand dollars for the repairs. She only has a little over a thousand. Antoine, coming to her lounge, offers to help. LaDonna is concerned about what happened between them. She makes it clear it was a "Mardi Grass intercourse", so he should not get any ideas. After a gig, Antoine comes back with more money, but LaDonna refuses the offer. Larry gave her the money she needed. Hidalgo, a Hispanic man from Texas enters the lounge to announce he will fix the roof for her.
Jeanette is facing a rough time with her ordeal of losing her restaurant. She is still seeing Davis. Jeanette has decided to bring her cart and cook at Baccanale, where Jon Cleary will play for the crowd. Jeanette's parents are given a tour of her restaurant. Most of the things inside will go to auction. The evening begins going her way, but after a while, it begins pouring. Most of the food is lost to the downpour nobody expected. Jeanette ends up at Davis'place because her bedroom is a mess with her damaged roof and no electricity.
Albert is trying to get on with his work. The costumes are being sewn for the next St. Joseph's day. At the same time, he drags Darius, who sits at home, doing nothing, to help them with the material they have to bring from Home Depot. As they return, Albert receives a visit from Lt. Colson who has come to have a word with the old man about his intentions of marching on St. Joseph's. Colson does not want a repeat of last year.
