Too preachy
mgl-9203712 January 2022
This was a middling NCIS LA episode which I enjoyed overall. However, the preachy moralizing tone of season 13 stinks things up at times.

Another general comment: these guys are too long in the tooth to portray youngish, hip cops. LL Cool J is two tires thick. Eric Christian Olsen with his long hair and sagging face looks more like someone's grandmother than the surfer boy he looked like ten years ago.

O'Donnell, who can actually act, is aging naturally and gracefully.

Lost Sailor Down

Warning: Spoilers
"Lost Sailor Down" is yet another episode about a suicide of an ex-military individual that has to wonder if it really was a suicide. This kind of thing happens at an alarming rate, but you have to wonder why they are repeating almost the same story we just had in the bus hostage episode.

I just found myself consistently looking at the clock and wondering when it was going to be over. It was not a horrible episode, but there was also nothing that exciting about it. I keep hoping the show is going to fully turn the corner but so far Season 13 is just not getting the job done and entertaining us.

Was the writer from the 60's?

Whoever wrote this episode knows nothing about LSD.

You don't rehab from it, it is not addictive, and you don't commit suicide using it. You can be injured wandering around without supervision while under the influence (as with any mind altering substance), which is why you should always have supervision. There is also no known overdose amount.

Watching this reminded me of the hysteria caused by misinformed people that got drugs like LSD, Mescalin, Psylocibin, Ayahuasca, MDMA, etc. Banned for decades.

I believe MDMA is the one showing the most promise for the treatment of PTSD, but studies are ongoing.
