I think it was nice to see the story wrapped up and see an end to the pursuit. Detective Pyre weather's his conviction and recognizes there is something more than his faith--recognizing what's in front of him and holding on to it. It's overall a beautiful story. I feel, though, that interesting problems of the story get hand-waved away for the sake of it.
I wonder about his wife's feelings and where her 180 came from. Will they still have to answer to the church after all of this? And what of Allen? He was concluded off-screen to have a similar-themed conclusion about family.
Maybe in it being a mini-series they didn't have the time to address some things or maybe the book that it's based off of, or the real case, doesn't have satisfying answers to those, either.
Either way I really liked the series and I thought it's telling was beautiful, even if I feel I wanted a little more.
