One of the best westerns
sphydtnq19 May 2024
Watched the film at cannes one of the best westerns. The direction the charaters the script the cinematography all of it. I loved this more than coppola megalopolis. Going to see it for a second time when it comes out .So good .I missed seeing costner in big movie roles even though he's in yellowstone .The acting is really good. The set design and the effects made it look like it is real. Like we're living in that world. Recommend to everyone to see this masterpiece. I was kinda scared at first but when i watched it i was blown out .Really one of the best films of the 2020s. Masterpiece from start to finish.

An absolutely exciting and thrilling movie

From the premiere in Cannes, it can be seen that director Kevin Costner loves some storytelling. In this film, a lot of subjective shots are used, KEVIN is a person who is very good at telling stories with camera and sound elements, as can be seen from the opening shot, giving me a strong visual experience.

It is worth mentioning that in the end of this movie, a lot of shots were used to create a tense atmosphere, making the conflict very strong. It was also a lot of perspective shooting, and even pivot shots, that made the chaotic atmosphere extremely attractive, which should be considered a long montage. Make this story exceptionally exciting, of course, this is just the first movie, just a small part. Many events and character motivations still need to be fully displayed in the next few (maybe 3 or 4), with several clues going hand in hand and not messy at all. Although it may seem too long for some young audiences, the viewing experience is simply not too good, it can completely capture my emotions, Kevin Costner is undoubtedly a genius and a master of this type of Western cinema.

I have a strong premonition that this movie is a rare masterpiece. I immediately want to watch the second part that follows. I heard it will be released in August this year, great!

It is great!

I watched the premiere, it looks great! Music is perfect, photography is perfect, this should be a slow burning movie, 3 hours doesn't feel long at all, just you need to focus! Undercover Avengers! It's quite interesting after entering the plot! I can't have too many spoilers! Hahaha!!! The acting skills of the actors are also good here, especially in tense relationships!!! I'm not a spoiler, but the last one is amazing. I'm eager to know what happened next. The story has a big suspense, and I really want to know. The director said there are still a few more movies and I'm looking forward to the second one! Recommended!

Exquisite movies

Call for the second film, which belongs to the category of high budget and exquisite films. The exquisite scenery paired with bold real-life scenes is magnificent, powerful, and uplifting. There are a few individual stories that seem unrelated, but there should be foreshadowing behind them. Each story is very clear, although the reason is currently unknown, I think the director will explain it in the second part later. Comparing the films will make the interpretation more interesting. The director has done a reverse and positive deepening process by reproducing the old form. Instead of conventional and general cognition, the stage is shifted to the west, and the simplification of the scene makes the paragraphs smoother and more compact, just like the primitive mystery of the west. The last scene was equally thrilling, and I prefer the handling of several emotional scenes in movies. Emotional changes are more natural, with a wide range of emotions, combining tenderness and excitement.

Really bad.

Just as vain and aimless as The Postman, but oddly not as compelling. Gorgeous cinematography reminds us that more westerns should be filmed in the USA. But a real misfire, feels like 6 TV pilots being edited into 1. Costner isn't getting better as an actor, and the worst elements of his shtick are on full display. The script has nothing new or interesting to say and I am happy it obscures its finer sources, it makes this stench feel like it all belongs to Costner, which it does. I don't mind the length or the gentle pacing. The problem is the earnest and terrible acting, the lack of anything fresh to the genre and really idiotic characters.
