-Not a great but still a nice Epic Movie
mollyconoleacting31 January 2012
I had mixed feelings going into this movie. Not sure what I'll get myself into. But after watching it to the end, it leaved me in tears. With beautiful cinematography, excellent acting, and most importantly, a great story per say. I lost track that I'm watching an independent film.

I think the key to understanding this movie is the title, and the narration at the end of the movie...But I won't spoil the movie for most of you.

I was impressed by the stunning performance of the leading actor, as well as of the other actors. The music of the film was also wisely selected. Some -few- funny moments in the film help the viewer lighten up and get ready for what I saw as brilliantly directed fighting scenes, that neither bored me nor made me look away.

Raw Emotion
mikefilmstar201231 January 2012
This film was simply Beautiful. I didn't see it at the theater, which upon seeing it later on DVD, regretting missing first time round.

It made some incredibly powerful statements and was very difficult to watch. I rarely admit to this, but I actually found parts of it so moving, that I cried! And I never cry.

OVERALL, a very well done movie, in terms of action, actually having a plot, and a cast that can carry it all off. I'm sure this film would have done better in the independent film festivals.

Folks, see this movie and experience it. Don't miss out on this art because of someone else's opinion. You will be sorry if you do.

---Art Film---

I love the work of this director. His visual sense is quite possibly the best out there these days. This movie takes it to another level. It's a wonderful story told about as well as you could ever expect.

From a technical standpoint, the visual are flawless and the attention to detail is impeccable. Quite simply, I was blown away. It felt a lot like a dream, and I didn't want to wake up.

Acting, Cinematography, music, every other thing is pitch perfect. This is not your feel-good movie of the year. This is not your latest thrills and spills blockbuster. If that's your thing, look elsewhere. But if you enjoy and appreciate meaningful, memorable, epic motion pictures, you will be challenged and you will be moved.

I'll give it a nine out of ten, because I always like to leave room for future improvement.

So-So but coulda been better!
stevenmark9232 February 2012
I just finished watching this movie and I gotta say that I really enjoyed it. The characters were well done and the story actually made you think for once. The cinematography was unbelievable and the acting were stunning. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a good artsy film. I rate this movie at a 7/10! because I know that this film requires multiple viewings! Much of the plot, which suffers at times from rampant complexity, is lost first time up, as the viewer's attention is absorbed principally by the visuals. Even more enjoyable on second and third viewings! if you ever get a chance to that.

Great Tears, Not so good Remedy!
arianbucsh2 February 2012
I think this is something that usually happens when you have a good story but you don't really know how you'll put it on film, in my opinion everything starts so good and then everything turns quite confusing including characters and storytelling.

Tears of Remedy" boasts a heap of stars that all bring strong performances – Ryan Herman (Leon) makes a great leading man here, who boasts presence and charisma as well as handling the action and emotional sequences.

On top of that the cinematography is just gorgeous to look at especially in digital theaters. It puts you in a very realistic parallel world that resembles ours but just not quite the same in a strange and unsettling way.

Well in conclusion see the movie and judge it by yourself, like everything in life everybody haves a different opinion. The only reason why I gave this movie a seven is because i really liked the storyline.

--A Story of Tears
icemaycry-279-77876130 January 2012
This movie isn't your normal love story, who is the hero, where is the plot going. There is a little in it for everyone, from the fact how beautiful the cinematography is and the way the story was told was truly compelling. I watched this movie when it was first premiere and get to meet the director afterward, You can tell he truly put so much into this piece of art. The beauty of the film is pure and sad. I'd cried toward the end of the film as so as many other female in the room. I am sure that Tears of Remedy is a film for multiple re-watches. It is hard to recommend, but not to recommend it - simply impossible. Is it perfect? I do not know. But it takes my breath away.

Long, but worth it.
mariamichaels7831 January 2012
Very difficult to characterize but most pleasant and thought provoking to watch. We didn't know what to expect going in, but held on to the very end. Most satisfying performances.

Sometimes a film like this carries you along only to leave you flat at the end. Not this one. The ending offers a real resolution. Leaving the audience in tears.

All the pauses in the conversations were absolutely needed to make the film work. With excellent acting by the three main actors this was truly one of the independent film in it best.

Great films.

---Emotional Journey---
What a two hours ride!

The movie was unique in every way from romance, drama, action, tragedy, joy, suspense, yes, everything you can imagine.

A different story from this era. The cinematography, story, score and acting all added up to an interesting and quite lovely spectacle.

I suggest everyone should give it a go. You might be as surprised as I was. I'm going to try to avoid any major spoilers so I'll keep it very vague on the story.

Only few movie like this one, can make you tears up towards the end. Guess that's why they call it Tears of Remedy.

One word to describe the film.

MAGICAL!

An emotional roller-coaster which defies being genre-fied
PeteLaMaster1 May 2011
Let me start by admitting that I'm in the film. But I was still drawn in and amazed at what got created and projected to the screen - even after observing much of the shoot. The final story and emotional reactions are even more than were in the script.

This is a wonderfully-complex film. The plot has 3 major story lines intertwined in a masterful way, so that the viewer's emotions are pushed and pulled and played with through the film. You fall in love. You become jaded. You get angry. You get deeply disappointed. You laugh. You are surprised.

I came away wanting to see the film again and again - to fully appreciate the depth of presentation. To more-fully enjoy all which is there to enjoy.

The camera-work is inventive and effective without being distracting. The director did a masterful job of editing the beautiful camera-work and making the most of some inspiring performances. Do yourself a favor and invest 2 hours to ride the ride.

A Different Kind of Love Story
andrewfilmninja30 January 2012
My friend insisted I see this film. I had no plan to see it. He said you've got to. So, I just got home. I am deeply moved and affected by this story. Story about a woman who can't feel emotion, a Bar owner who collect tears, and a businessman who is a loner. I am no expert reviewer, just a simple watcher of many films. I can say that the time sped by, although the story telling is slow. I realize now how deliberate that was.

I was not bored for a second. In the slowness, there is story. Packed with story. Although there is very much dialogue, but there is story, nonetheless. After the first half hour, I wanted to experience the film and allowed myself the pleasure, not just watch it.

I can also see where this film may not get much attention. It is such a film that one must ponder a bit to really enjoy it, be moved by it. Realism isn't an issue. A film is a dramatic work of art. Reality does not exist within the frames of this film.

So in the end, I'm glad that there's a film like this out there. I highly recommend Tears of Remedy to anyone who enjoys artistic films.

Too much hype!
stevenking500031 January 2012
I have been waiting to watch this film for the past year. The Director finally lend me the DVD. So I finally got to see it last night. Going into this film I didn't know what to expect. I had really high expectations for it. It turned out to be really good minus some negative content. This movie was also really beautifully filmed. There was always something to see on screen. I had no problem following the story line. It had me on the edge of my seat with anticipation. There is more I could say but this is where I will stop! Enjoy it for yourself. Lovely film, don't try to analyze too much, this is fantasy after all...

Poetry in Motion
jamiehale9817 February 2012
Going into the theater I expected to see a typical movie. But coming out of the theater I felt truly touched by this movie.***** I was lucky enough to see this at the showing in clearwater film festival. ------Thankfully the lights were dimmed when they showed this so we could all cry in the dark. -----This feature film just blew me away. Absolutely beautiful. Too bad no one will see it! ----The cinematography, the story, the pace, the music, simply breathtaking, everything works.------- I'm glad it won lots of awards, --------it deserves it! All in all, the film is very touching and melancholy with beautiful music. I heartily recommend this film if you can get to see it. *****

A Fantasy Tale base on reality ?
angelaburren2 February 2012
When a movie introduces a supernatural element from the beginning, from its title, it's easier for the viewer to forgive a real world in which a character (luna) has no emotions. And there's a cigar that can make you forget love.

I had a bit of trouble warming to the main character (Leon) but he comes alive when he meets the gorgeous and talented Monika Kirkland (Luna).

Although implausible the story has few holes and is engaging and over-poweringly bitter-sweet, the emotion it evokes is almost tangible. The film flirts on the edge of Fantasy which is quite interesting, especially if you try and imagine if that was real.

Production-wise everything is top notch. The music matches the mood. The visuals add to it.

I believe the female audience will enjoy this a lot more than the males. The film tells a lot more about feelings than about the narrative, not that that is entirely a bad thing. I did find it quite hard to engage with any of the characters and I did find it a little too drawn out at the middle.

This story is an artistic semblance of life: the director created a special kind of reality that pulled the viewer into main guy (Leon's) imaginary world of love. Amazing movie.

A Hero's Journey with some tears!
georgemac752 February 2012
I was looking for this movie fan site online after watching it at the clearwater film festival and I had to write a review for it. Don't be shy if you don't understand the film. Understanding such a film is not something that can ever be accomplished based on the many different meanings and also structure-less paths the film takes. A bold, dream-like piece; confusing, befuddling, but often stunningly beautiful. It definitely won't be for everyone, many will find it confusing and impenetrable, but Tears of Remedy could well mark an eye- opening new direction for film, with Lee Thongkham's direction treading a unique new path for other filmmakers to follow.

Tears of Art-
mathewmoore02 February 2012
Tears of Remedy is better than I thought it would be. My friend gave me the DVD last night, Watched it, loved it, rating it. This movie is one of the most original ideas I've seen in a while. It has a lot more depth to it than 90% of the films that are coming out nowadays, and is exciting throughout... highly recommended! The ideas being portrayed are highly relevant to our times, and the movie leaves you thinking about it long after you've finished watching. I wanted to support this film as much as I can. Unfortunately I don't feel like writing pointless summaries/opinions on how the movie should have been, but this site makes you write a minimum of ten lines in order to post.
