What a season finale for the second season of AMC's "The Walking Dead"
Plot In A Paragraph: The farm comes under attack from a group of walkers attracted by the sound of Carl firing his gun at the end of the last episode.
In an a superb action packed episode, we get to see how the walkers made their way to the farm from the City, initially they were following a helicopter (the same one Rick was following in the very first episode) we also got to see some of the group bite the dust. In fairness they didn't have many scenes or much dialogue, so they won't be missed much.
For the first time in a while Andrea didn't annoy me, she had me rooting for her, as she started taking out walkers defending the farm. Whilst Hershel unleashed his inner bad ass, that few suspected was hidden there. I feel a lot of sympathy for Hershel he did the right thing helping the group, and now because of them and their actions, he has lost his home.
Whilst I started to like Andrea, I wanted them to offer Sarah Wayne Callies as Lori up for Walker bait. That is one annoying woman whose behaviour is a total liability.
Overall the second season has been a bit of a slow burner. But it remained compelling viewing throughout. Some of my favourite scenes included the bonding of Daryl and Carol over the search for Sophia. And whilst some cast members will be missed, Scott Wilson is a very good addition to the cast as Hershal, as is Lauren Cohen and Emily Kinney as his daughters Maggie and Beth.
Bring on season 3.
