The New Chief
claudio_carvalho1 January 2022
When the gay Dr. Micah Newton is found murdered in a golf club with one hit on the head by a club, Lisbon and Patrick investigate the crime scene. Lisbon is interrupted by LaRoche and she makes a comment to him before learning that he is replacing Hightower. He immediately replaces Lisbon by Cho that reluctantly accepts the new position. Meanwhile, Lisbon and Patrick interview Newton's assistant Francine Trent and learn that he was in charge of a transplant program. His position was immediately replaced by Dr. Evan Quick, who change the politics in the hospital aiming higher profit. Among the patients, there is the Russian mobster "Siberia" that has privileges while others stay in the transplant list. Patrick stays with the nurses and observes the treatment spent to the patients to find the killer.

"Bloodstream" is a good episode of "The Mentalist", with Cho performing Lisbon's duties. His character is more convincing in Lisbon's position if this show was serious. However, the intent of this show is to entertain with funny scenes; therefore, she is perfect in her role, knowing how Patrick Jane is important and how to deal with him. My vote is eight.

Something's wrong!

Patrick's crazies are kinda subdued in this episode. The Russian drug lord angle was kinda unnecessary. Robin Tunney just does not suit cop/boss role! Is it just me or is there anyone who thinks somebody else has to replace her? Her relief on not being held responsible for Patrick's actions was unconvincing and also unlike Teresa.

I know its not an ensemble cast, but Owain and Amanda disappear every now and then. Its like they have been signed up for guest appearances of late

Hope the writers are not cooking up anything between Le Roche and Teresa!

Looking forward to a better episode next week
