Kenny Hotz take on some of the world's biggest challenges, in a daring, original and brilliant new show.
JackTLovesJackD2 August 2011
Having been a fan of Kenny versus Spenny (KvS) for many years, I always wondered what they were going to do once the show wrapped. For me Kenny had always been the star of KvS and so the bar was set pretty high for the first of Kenny Hotz's solo projects, the series Testees. It wasn't as brilliant as I wanted it to be, but then again it was a totally different show to KvS with relatively unknown actors. The thing that always struck me about Kenny Hotz was that in KvS he came across as effortlessly hilarious, brilliantly puerile and someone who to quote Dead Poets Society (why not) would be in a high school year book... "The person most likely to do anything". Triumph of The Will is Kenny Hotz's new show, it recently aired and having watched the first four episodes I can proudly say that this is a brilliant new show, and a great idea. It's executed perfectly, beautifully shot, it's hilarious, it's daring, it doesn't care if you're offended or not and it's above all a show for adults and doesn't treat you like a child that needs to be spoon fed easily digestible television. In short it's the show I always wanted Kenny Hotz to do after Kenny versus Spenny. It's clever and original. Original ideas are sadly a rarity these days, it's wonderfully refreshing to have such a great new show to look forward to watching. Check it out!

A Triumph of Creative Television
calebalang26 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Immature, infantile, scatological, and repulsive. These are just a few words that could be used to aptly describe one of the best television shows to ever come out of Canada, the controversial Kenny Vs. Spenny.

Running for 86 episode, Kenny Vs. Spenny chronicled the antagonistic relationship between best friends Kenny Hotz and Spencer Rice as they faced off, week after week in competition against each other, with consistently humiliating results for the loser. (usually Spenny) In what was really a classic story of the struggle between good and evil, or in this case meek and clever, Kenny Hotz showed his conniving ways by consistently outsmarting his opponent, doing whatever what was necessary to come out on top in a truly Darwinian fashion of survival of the fittest.

Even after the show was over though, Kenny Hotz remained a competitor, and in his new show Triumph of the Will, he continues to face a series of challenge - this time man vs. self - which put his wiliness and cunning to the ultimate test.

From the stomach turning attempt to becoming a cannibal, to the heartwarming quest to find his mother love, Triumph of the Will is a much more intelligent and dynamic effort than his previous show, one with a lot of potential that will unfortunately be cut short before it has a chance to shine. Cable television is an unfortunate wasteland of airbrushed faces and pacifism, and shows like Triumph of the Will are a rarity which will be seen less and less as time goes on. Even Kennibal, the episode where Kenny attempts to eat all of the elements of the human body, is heavily censored through most available channels.

Kenny Hotz proves once again that you can make a smart fart joke, that you can be both incredibly offensive yet heartwarming at the same time, and that you can make a television show that has brains as much as it has balls while being gut-wrenchingly funny all at the same time.

Blown Away
lilmidge24 July 2011
Read a lot of great reviews for this show so my expectations were high, but I was not prepared for what I saw. It was beyond amazing, its unlike anything else on TV and its different from KVS and Testees, which I loved as well (other Kenny Hotz shows). In a way, it is like watching a news story done by a deranged lunatic genius.

It always seems that comedians are the least afraid of telling it like it is, (ie. Lenny Bruce) which you would think should be the key trait to any good journalist. Unfortunately, most journalists are incredibly politically correct, so its very refreshing to see Kenny's take on interesting subjects, its different, more honest and more funny.

Best show out there!

Hotz's Triumph: Brilliant Canadian Television
aarontrobson2 August 2011
It's not really a secret that today's Canadian television content is horrendous. Most television in general is horrible but the Canadian broadcasters have a real knack for playing the safe hand when it comes to originality. Because of this, we're given shows that don't try anything new but only try to mimic the larger budget American productions. So to see something as unique and brilliant as Kenny Hotz's Triumph of the Will slip through the cracks and make it on to television really gives one hope that someday the Canadian film and television industry will embrace the homegrown talent and stop trying to be American.

Taking a journalistic approach to his antics, Kenny Hotz throws himself against human morality and tackles some of life's problems with a unique perspective and artistic production values. Whether it be making it as an immigrant by starting off in the Nevada desert stark naked without a single penny to his name or finding true love for his widowed Mother, Kenny will entertain like none other.

The sad part to this though will be the struggle for the show to see a life past the 6 episode, first season. Already fighting an uphill battle, the show has been given a Friday time slot and is being broadcast on Action Showcase oppose to the mother channel, Showcase. But that doesn't mean it's over. If you haven't seen it already, go watch it immediately (you can find the first 4 episodes on the Action Showcase website). For those of you unsure about it, it's not Kenny vs Spenny but you would be wrong to dismiss it for that reason. People grow with time, most often moving onto greater things and in this case it's no different. Kenny Hotz's Triumph of the Will is one of many steps towards greater Canadian content and in the end, it all boils down to what people as a whole watch.

Kenny Hotz is all grown up
FAdmiral2 August 2011
Triumph of the Will is a more mature and a more evolved piece of programming. If you are looking for this show to be a Kenny only version of Kenny vs Spenny, you are looking in the wrong place. You should approach this show as more a documentary rather than a gross out, shock jockfest. With an open mind comes an appreciation of what Kenny Hotz is really trying to do with this show. It is something unlike any show out there and it is worth watching and appreciating. There are plenty of laughs, don't get me wrong, and if you are willing to open your mind to new experiences, Triumph of the Will will deliver on a level that you wouldn't normally expect.

Just pure awesome
blaisewozniak11 August 2011
Triumph of the will was simply amazing. Not only did the mother episode actually almost make me cry, the Kennibal episode got my girlfriend pregnant (were naming him Kenny!).

But in all seriousness, I loved how it was a cross between documentary and comedy. It reminded me of "Penn and Tellers Bullshit!". Yours was better of course and I'm really hoping for a new season. I applaud you, you did a stand up job.

One thing people will notice in this show is its a more "real" Kenny. In Kenny vs Spenny, Mr. Hotz was constantly harassing Spenny and doing whatever it took to win. Now with this, you get to see a more thoughtful, down to earth, less "evil" Kenny which is a great change. I loved him in KvS, don't get me wrong, but after this season i have much more respect for him.

Cant wait for season two!

Inspiring
mcmonkey421 August 2011
Kenny Hotz's new TV show is outstanding. I couldn't have imagined it would be that excelling, with every episode better then the next but at the same time each episode being unique. I must put up my hand up and say that i am a fan of Kenny vs Spenny, but now i am a greater fan of Triumph of the Will.

Triumph of the Will shows a more "grown up" Kenny, Not only has he got grey hair now but he has shifted his intellect and cunning from picking on Spenny and targeted it on to the world and it's problems.

Throughout the series Kenny shows that humans can do incredible things, like showing you if you are down on luck to sit near people that have worse luck and that his mum is very dear to his heart.

Overall i gave this show a 11 out of 10 the i removed a point off for making it soo hard to watch in Australia... can't even buy it on iTunes (in Australia) or watch it on the site (in Australia) and many people don't have paid TV in wait for it....Australia.

Kenny if you read this review come to Australia mate and i'll chuck a shrimp on the barbie for you or pork if you still do eat pig.

An absolute marvel.
Lojinkz7 August 2011
Out of all the mindless drivel and unoriginal, predictable plots that the average television viewer is bombarded with on a daily basis, it is remarkably refreshing to find an instant classic such as this.

Kenny Hotz, of Testees and Kenny VS Spenny fame, is back in this new television spectacle. Fans of KVS are no strangers to the often crass and rude jokes and pranks of Mr. Hotz, but it is safe to say that he has grown up quite a lot.

The show pits Kenny, the star of the show, against several challenges set by himself. Though the odds are always against him, he usually ends up triumphing. For example, in one episode, he attempts to find his elderly mother love, and in another he tries to build a Jewish-funded mosque.

Kenny Hotz, though obviously more mature, still has a lot of energy and joking around left in him. He often shows another side of himself not often portrayed in Kenny VS Spenny, but will change it around and surprise you with that good old Hotz humour. The show is always fresh and interesting, and as a huge fan of Kenny VS Spenny, it is wonderful and fascinating to learn more about who he is.

Fans of Kenny Vs Spenny may be disappointed, as there is much less toilet and frat boy type humour, but I hope that the show will attract many fans, new and old, to experience the charm that the program has to offer.

This show is not for everyone, but I think that it should be given a chance, as it may surprise fans of Kenny Hotz, and even those who are not so fond of him. Overall, it is a fresh, funny, interesting show, and I highly recommend it. It gets a perfect score from me.

An Amazing Canadian Show.
tallmanruss6 August 2011
I've loved Kenny Hotz from "Kenny Vs. Spenny", So I had to watch Triumpth of the Will, I have never seen a show like this on Television,The first episode we saw, Everything felt completely unique,The way we see the show, with the editing and camera views are something I have never seen before.

The Show itself, Has Kenny challenging himself, This leads to some challenges that can be titled as insane.

The whole Series didn't feel like it was on a single shade, which is a good thing for variety. Each episode has its moments, From Laughing out loud and Heartwarming moments to having your jaw drop in shock.

Overall this show is one of a kind, And can only be done by Kenny Hotz Himself.

This show is incredible.
jerenater109 August 2011
This show is amazing. Kenny vs. Spenny was brilliant. KVS brought 2 polar opposites pitting against each other in a competition with hilarious and many times shocking results. In KVS, Kenny was the laid back, offensive, hilarious evil genius. In Triumph Of The Will, Kenny brings out a whole new persona. Hes smart, caring, confident and daring. This show is absolutely hilarious and insanely entertaining. This show is proof that Kenny doesn't need Spenny around to make fun of, he is a hilarious visionary on his own. I advise everybody reading this review to buy season 1 on iTunes. This show NEEDS a second season. Bravo Kenny, Bravo.

Below Average TV
cleavantderricks30 April 2018
This is a below average show. Kenny Hotz is desperately trying to seem smart and funny but the jokes are all based in toilet and sex comedy. When you step back nothing is special about it. It is shock comedy with no real shock behind it and it just isn't very funny either. I can't even tell how much of this is actually real and suspect much or all of it is faked. If he actually eats a placenta props for that but other people do that quite a bit as part of their culture or because it is a recent Hollywood fad so what's the big deal? In another episode he hangs out in a pig pen dressed like a pig to see if he should be a vegetarian. It's just stupidity masquerading as comedy, pretending to be making a much deeper statement than it actually is.

Its new its fresh its different

I have watched the first 4 episodes and been stunned in shock and enthralled with laughter it makes you laugh it makes you cry and everything in between. The fact that it is so different means you are automatically intrigued. When people who follow this sort of media hear the name Kenny Hotz they think kenny vs spenny but this is kenny vs kenny and kenny vs the world with the added humour we saw in kenny vs spenny. I look forward to the rest of the episodes and for kenny's future projects his solo career is just beginning sit back and enjoy the ride its just beginning i think that i can say for all fans of kenny WE LOVE THIS KENNY!

Modern Masterpiece! Triumph of The Will Triumphs!
lovaj0015 August 2011
If you watched "Triumph of The Will" because of seeing Kenny Hotz in his previous TV shows, you will be pleasantly surprised with "Triumph Of The Will." It is breath taking and truly a modern masterpiece. Kenny has found the biggest issues in the world at the moment and tries to tackle an issue in each episode.

Triumph is more about the message that Kenny is trying to get across, not him messing with his room mate. Kenny cannot solve all of these problems by himself but with people watching the show the message is passed around the world. Kenny is doing the best he can to change the world that we all live in for the better by promoting peace and love and entertaining along the way. I hope that there are many more seasons to come of this new breed of television show.

I highly recommend this show to anyone who is sick and tired of the same crap that is plastered all over television. Original, unique and fun! Anyone who watches the show will understand why Kenny Hotz is a true hero.

Genius
melissa_boudreau2 August 2011
After seeing his former "Kenny Vs. Spenny" costar's feeble attempt at going solo after the end of the series, I was skeptical that "Triumph" would be any better. I was wrong. This show is uproariously hilarious from start to finish! Based on the five episodes I have seen, the show is much more thoughtful than "Kenny Vs. Spenny". It dares to take on religious, social and familial issues and presents them with humour and passion. Kenny Hotz is a genius, it's a shame that parts of the series have been censored. I hope that this series is able to continue for years to come so the world can see more of this modern pioneer in Canadian comedy.

An excellent show.
PiotrWeselak5 August 2011
After watching all 6 episodes of Triumph of the Will, I can now safely say that the season was fantastic. All 6 episodes delivered everything I expected from Kenny Hotz. In the show, Kenny has competitions against himself. Competitions like, Can he become rich in America?, or the disgusting, Can Kenny become a cannibal? Today I watched the Cannibal episode, and trust me when I say this, It's really, really nasty. I won't spoil anything about it in this review. The CRTC even made them edit out a scene where Kenny "eats something". Sometimes the show even becomes extremely awkward, like in the episode where he tries to get his mom laid.

That's what this show is really good at. It toys with emotions. In this season alone you will feel happy, sad, disgusted, awkward, any many other emotions. It's a deep comedy show that I have never seen before, which is a good thing. Very original and most importantly, VERY entertaining.

Excellent show, definitely worth the watch.

Fresh, Funny, and Quintessentially Kenny
pdmcphillips2 August 2011
Kenny Hotz's new show is a fresh departure from the hilarious "Kenny vs Spenny". This time, he's flying solo (albeit with a few familiar KvS faces popping up...not Spenny) and he's tackling some hardcore issues. Existing fans of Kenny will really love this show. He's still uniquely funny, he has tremendous balls (excuse the crudity, but it's the best word to describe it) in some of the stuff he does, and most importantly, he is passionate. This passion will definitely spawn new found Kenny fans amongst the populous. He wants to talk to YOU the viewer, without compromise.

Kenny's commitment to his work is clearly represented in "Triumph of the Will". He is driven - not only to make a fresh and vibrant TV show, but to prove to himself, and to the viewer that he CAN accomplish the goals he sets for himself.

The show looks clean, thanks to the direction of Sebastian Cluer (who also directed KvS)and slick editing. Brutally honest in his delivery and motivated by mediocre (at best) mainstream media, "Kenny Hotz's Triumph of the Will" is a breath of fresh air to waning reality television.

Watch it, it's as simple as that.

Different than the rest
never_second_32 August 2011
If you are looking for a show like no others, not just in the shock and awe comedy, but also in the pop culture of things, this is a show for you. Great step in the right direction after the ending of Kenny vs. Spenny. No doubt that this show will be successful and continue Kenny's career into stardom. Seeing all of the episodes so far, have all been original and well thought out, and each episode has that Kenny comedy feel that we all miss from his more popular show. The first episode of example was for Kenny to start naked in the desert near Las Vegas, and he needs to work his way towards living the American dream. That is the type of thing I enjoy seeing, though this is a Canadian show, I hope everyone has the opportunity to see it

Triumph; A triumph
dpbpd2 August 2011
I want to start by saying Triumph is much better than KvS; although I'm sure I will have numerous people disagreeing with me.

The reason I have come to this conclusion is simple: It shows Hotz as a human being; capable of a large range of emotions. Wanting to be something better than the flawed being he really is.

Kenny Hotz is an amazing person, not someone you should aspire to be, but instead someone who should inspire you to better yourself.

That's not to say Kenny Hotz wasn't a boss on KvS, incredibly entertaining and always the one to root for.

Unlike Spencer Rice, who lies to himself constantly and just seems like an all around sleeze.

Kenny is at least honest about who he is and offers no excuses or apologies.

If I were able to speak directly to Kenny Hotz, I would say this: Keep it going Hotz, you're more and more my hero with every passing year bro.

I apologize for the odd format but for IMDb wouldn't accept my review unless I formatted it this way.

Warning: Spoilers
I went into this show with an open mind. I have watched KvS since the very beginning and I honestly expected this show to be Kenny vs. Spenny without the Spenny. Which in all honestly would have been perfectly fine with me.

After watching the first season, I am nothing short of blown away. All my expectations have been totally exceeded. Kenny Hotz has taken a premise that could have been totally silly and outrageous and while the show is very funny, in many ways it makes you think. The very first episode has Kenny butt naked in the Nevada desert walking towards Vegas, his goal, to see if he can be successful with not even as shirt on his back. Doing this as a tribute to his grandfather who came to North America with nothing and started a family. Kenny uses his antics to conger up money and scam his way to the top. And although technically he made it from "rags to riches" the episode ends with Kenny saying something to the effect of "My grandfather didn't do what he did by stealing and lying, I am nothing compared to him". These kinds of revelations are what make this show nothing short of excellent.

On an additional note the episode format changes very much from episode to episode. The "Can I stop eating pork" episode was very guerrilla documentary style (which i attribute to Kenny's journalism background) with Kenny trying to sneak into corporate farms to see what goes on behind the gates, while other episodes are very touching like "Can I find Love for My Mother".

This show has its fair share of laughs, but it will also make you think. I can honestly say there is nothing else on TV that is anything like this show, and if you are not watching it you are missing out.

Kenny Hotz enters new territory
lars-881-5111063 August 2011
Kenny vs Spenny is my favorite TV show of all time, it's even better than South Park and Monty Python's Flying Circus. It ended last year and Kenny and Spenny started making their own separate shows and I was looking very much forward to especially Kenny's new show. Single White Spenny was worse than I had expected, it was horrible actually. My expectations for TOTW was very high and I actually wasn't disappointed. It's nothing like KvS, not as extreme and immature. It's still funny but this show will attract a lot of viewers who didn't like KvS. My brother disliked KvS but was enjoying TOTW when he watched it with me. The format is very different. TOTW starts off with Kenny explaining the challenge he has set up for himself for the episode. It has Kenny working sort of as a guerrilla reporter, the kind of reporter you would prefer over normal reporters, very politically incorrect but always sincere. I've seen four episodes so far, Vegas, Pig, Mom, Mosque. I think Pig was the worst, it dragged a bit too much, and Mosque was the best but both Vegas and Mom were really good as well. The crew is, I think, the same he worked with on KvS with Sebastian Cluer and others, and the shows is really neatly shot, very aesthetic. This is a one-of-a- kind show, don't miss it. Support Kenny as much as you can, we need him to keep making good shows for us.

Absolutely amazing

Warning: Spoilers
If could be a Kenny Hotz fan, or be a person interested in obscure news and stories and this hits on ALL LEVELS. From a trip and history lesson in France and over coming personal obstacles, to being dropped nude in the middle of the desert and finding your way out, to The dissection of why pork is so addictive and of course, eating human body parts. I think that Mr. Hotz is an absolute comedic genius. From Kenny vs Spenny, Testees and Triumph of the will among many movie projects, He is never afraid to push the limit and is always looking to deliver, and never fails! We need more people like him, hard working and determined. More Kenny Hotz projects please!

Spenny can suck it.
bam4312 August 2011
Warning: Spoilers
It's a different kinda show. You still have some of his signature humour from Kenny vs Spenny, but there's also much more. He does try to convey a serious message with each episode. I've seen it described as rogue journalism and I'd say that's fairly accurate. Don't get me wrong, I've sat around watching Marcia McMillian on CTV News Net for hours at a time, but Kenny makes things more entertaining. In the first episode he wants to see if the American dream is still plausible. He gets dropped in the middle of Nevada naked. He works his way to Vegas acquiring cloths and a little pink bike along the way. After a little stealing and gambling he racks up a few thousand then blows it on strippers and booze.

Wickedly Funny and Polished!
doobiesnax3 August 2011
The show is amazing! Had the opportunity to watch the Unedited version of "Kennibal" the episode where Kenny attempts to become a cannibal at this years Just For Laughs Festival and It was brilliant! The show is well edited , non stop hilarity and Hotz is at his twisted best! The extreme lengths this man goes to in order to make his audience laugh is only surpassed by his ability to weave social commentary into his antics as a kind of middle finger to what mainstream culture deems acceptable and unacceptable. Hopefully someone out there in network land is smart enough to pick this show up and run with it as it as polished as Kenny's ass after using Spenny as his own human Bidet!

More Genius from Kenny Hotz
matthewpolin26 December 2011
Kenny Hotz is probably the most underrated genius on television. I've been the biggest fan of Kenny Vs. Spenny for years (I used to have hunt episodes and DVD's down pretty hard because I live in the US and it was a Canadian Show). Every show left me crying and my side hurting from the non-stop laughter.

Triumph Of The Will has the moments of laughter - see Episode 1 where Kenny starts out with no money and naked in Vegas - BUT there are also moments in the show that have REAL moments that made me think and also made me sympathetic to what was going on - See the MEAT episode.

There are also really sweet moments on the show where you get to see the beautiful Tzaffi Hotz, Kenny's Mother, and without giving anything away it was the sweetest attempt to find his mother love.

Now Kenny may have impregnated both my Fiancée and my Sister, and he may have a filed attempt at impregnating my Mother, ALTHOUGH he left my father in the abortion clinic to take care of his own mess, and he may have sold my brother a bag of catnip and told him it was "dehydrated candy cannabis", I just can't hold it against him as long as he keeps putting shows like this on television.
