Great episode

This episode was so emotional to me for some reason. Just wonderful. And then... Puddles The Clown. It must have been an inside thing. All the feels. Hope this show goes on for a long time.

Poor Fred has been wished out to the cornfield

My subject header refers to Jackie's husband from the original Roseanne. I'm not sure if this reboot had ever mentioned Jackie never being married or not. It's disappointing...they could've still had Fred exist and point out Jackie's been married and divorced. Oh well.

So let's get to the episode. Three marriages are supposed to take place and only two happen. Aldo won't let the kids stuff go and Harris rightfully gets upset about it. She makes the wise decision to end it because they're getting married for the wrong reasons.

There's a tiff going on for Neville. He's a religious man and wants to get married by a priest. Darlene wanted somebody more secular. I could see it even more clearly when Neville was saying 'this family's going to hell'. It just wasn't funny. It made me think of DJ in the original Roseanne becoming religious for the one episode and it was pointed out some of Dan's family are religious and had sent the Conners a Bible with every word highlighted. It cracked me up and makes me laugh just thinking about it.

Roseanne (character) got mentioned and Jackie was talking about why it was so important for this dual wedding to take place. Jackie believes Roseanne's spirit will be watching the ceremony. I won't mock that. My guess is a lot of people believe or hope deceased loved ones will be able to see important events or watch out after loved ones that are still living.

I'll give credit to Jackie's behavior during the ceremony. She actually acted like she had sense and I liked how she turned her botched tattoo into something positive. Jackie wanted Neville's name tattooed on her ring finger and Aldo put 'never' on her finger instead.

Becky and Dan are feeling lost with all the changes going on. Becky's afraid that she won't be able to move in with Darlene and Dan's worried about the family leaving him behind with everybody moving out all at once.

All in all it was a slightly better episode than the past episodes. And you also had a DJ and Mary sighting! You two better watch out. Y'all might be the next ones out in the cornfield. I didn't see Gina so maybe she's already out there?

I won't be watching next season. This series just isn't holding my interest and I don't see the point in watching something that basically sounds like I'm hate watching by this point in time. I guess I'm already mentally blocking this series like how I did with the 9th season of Roseanne. I'll go back to thinking the Conners saga ended at David and Darlene's wedding and Dan surviving his heart attack.

EDIT: Geez, looks like my review hit it out of the ballpark in terms of DJ and Mary going out to the cornfield. Michael Fishman was told he wouldn't be back for season 5 and the actress playing Mary would be demoted to recurring. I want to focus on Michael tbh. It's lousy that he was on the series from episode one of the original Roseanne and he's being ditched like this. It's cruel. And I'm also not having it by seeing people snark that Michael wasn't that great of an actor. Funny to me he nailed what little he had to do on this show. Let me put in another way, I'd rather see an entire season revolve around DJ and Mary than the garbage involving Darlene and Ben.

Michael Fishman is a class act. Not surprised that his statement is an eloquent one. I loved the shout-out Michael gave to Glenn Quinn when the Roseanne reboot was announced.

As for the actress that's playing Mary...I'm not surprised she was let go. I even pointed out how unfair it was to this actress for another child (older Beverly Rose) to be introduced and that would eat up any potential screen time she could get.

End of the day, this series absolutely pales in comparison to the original Roseanne and I feel like both of y'all will find something better than The Conners. Best of luck to you both. Y'all are being treated dirty but you'll both come out ahead.

Warning: Spoilers
I think they prepared this to be the last episode if needed, but thankfully it is coming back. This would be a bad way to go out as there were almost no laughs in this episode.
